This is one of the best videos I’ve seen all year! Really captured the essence of the tour experience, rather than just quick edits of the highlights. I’m glad you didn’t rush or overly edit it. The complexity and intricacy of the structural engineering is astonishing. Especially considering the fact that all this occurred before computers or even electronic calculators. I’m also amazed that the workers did such a consistently good job installing the thousands of rivets. Given human nature, it would seem that there’d be at least a few workers who were having a bad day, or were nervous working at such a height, and would’ve done a rush job on a few rivets. And that those rivets would pop off and fall to the ground a few years later, potentially causing structural damage as they let loose. The bravery of the chief designer is off the charts. To have the confidence that it would support it’s own weight, would survive wind pressure, that the foundation would support the weight, and that it would be safe enough to support the weight of hundreds of people, over a century later, is simply incredible. Also, I’m glad you did the brief selfie because I was wondering how it was filmed. Cheers!

I drank a bottle of wine at the top with an American girl I met in Amsterdam in 1999. I asked her to join me to Paris she oblidged. We never hooked up I was just looking for a travel mate to Paris. To this day Ill never forget the moments we shared together. Two strangers who only knew each other for a few days, did 5 days in Paris before I had to go home to Canada. I met her two years later in Paris by chance. I sent her an email telling her I was back in Paris visiting some of the spots we missed. She sent me an email stating she was also in Paris with her mom doing the same. We met up again and went to the Rodan Museum, museum of modern art and took a boat cruise on the Seine. Magical times I must say. Nothing better then travelling with an amazing girl with no expectations. just two strangers with the love to travel.

Paris is so COLOSSAL! Anywhere you go on these observation decks, it consumes nearly ALL of the horizon. It's NO small wonder that Lindy eventually found his way to Le Bourget Field in 1927, with a mind and body dealing with crushing fatigue, too. Gee, I thought the French--not all of them, of course--were supposed to be unrepentant incorrigible smokers--not a ONE on the tower.

so, is it worth it? 26.80 Euros and 2 hours waiting? I have been many many times to Paris but never in the Loure and never on top of the Eifel tower

The waiting time is more then 2h. I also been many times in Paris and i never had the courage to go up there bcz of the long queues. But this time i decided to go for it bcz i traveled with my mom and she was like first time in Europe in General. So answering your question yes it was worth it 😉

Wow - a wait in lines for hours and big crowds! Just like Disney World.

Exactly 😄 I would say that Disney world has way faster lines then Eiffel tower.

Eiffel was a remarkable genius. Even today The Eiffel Tower is one of the most beautiful, perfectly designed structures ever built.

Its nice to hear that. may be once you will be able to visit it and send your father greetings from there.

We had an express ticket that avoided the lengthy wait prior to and after security. August was hot when I guess this video was shot. We were there in August.

I have been there mid July. What do you mean by express ticket? Is it online ticket?
