I love how you encapsulated Jimmy's petty obsession and jealousy over Curly's success. Having Jimmy act like some lord over the captain only for the consequences to throw him through the wringer is awesome!

what i understand through the game is that Jimmy was so down psychologicaly that he wanted to end his life, not caring about the others that he think they are looking down on him. And when Curly got hurt instead, he found here a opportunity to be the highest of all of the crew and do the decisions and, by the same occasion, having some morbid fun with the guy who he was jealous to. He becomes so delusional that he believes that he arranged things, but he actually made things even worse, ending up killing people. When he realised the gravity of his actions and what that led to, he tried to peruate himself by saying that all of this was an accident (he denies everything he has done because he believed he was the main victime in all of this), but he finally decided to save the captain and end his own life.

I really love how the visuals change the meaning of the lyrics. At the start jimmy is singing to curly and taunting about how he is going to jump from the tower if he is let down and doesn't get what he wants but after the event of the game it's everyone else singing happily to jimmy about how they WILL jump from the tower BECAUSE they have been let down and jimmy is left alone with that truth

Oooo I love how when the song talks about being overlooked we see Anya and when it says mislead it shows Swansea. It both feels like Jimmy’s stomping down the hallway throwing a tantrum over Curly’s perceived slights, while also in the background you see the REAL harm Curly’s leadership has enabled Love how the corpses of the crew and Curly-post accident don’t feel like they’re characters, but just whatever Jimmy thinks of them and wants to project onto them. Because they don’t have agency anymore.

I like the fact when Jimmy is dropped onto the roller coaster thing with the three dead people haunting him. Anya puts her hands on his shoulders, I know it ain’t much but now she’s the one in control and is able to touch him and he isn’t able to fight back. Also in the beginning after Jimmy presses the button, and it’s shown Curly saw the images flash. Imagine that was telling him what was gonna happen, but the plane crashed and then he couldn’t talk. And only stay still while everyone around him died

The fact that the artist (Ted Gärdestad) committed suicide by jumping in front of a train makes this song.. a lot sadder. (He suffered from schizophrenia and in 1997 he took his own life due to severely worsening mental health, not to mention the stigma. My personal interpretation of Swansea and Anya on their ladder is that, they believed themselves to be at the top already, a low top but the top nonetheless, they could not believe they would ever climb any higher, they reached their sad lonely peak... but in reality they had the capability to climb, if they'd just climbed down their ladder and up another, the steps to go down are there, but they didn't see a point in taking them because going down is terrifying... theyre at the top, how could they possibly go higher, right? They dont have a higher peak to climb to... unless they went down first...

like the detail of jimmy looking at Anya on the lyric "i get overlooked" given how Anya's whole situation with him was overlooked by everyone on the ship. Curly did nothing about it even blaming her a little for it, She felt she couldn't tell Daisuke as he was too young and Swansea only learned of it when it was too late to do anything. It also sums up Jimmys perception of her as he constantly overlooks/outright downplays any capabilities she has.

I adore the scene of him being sat in front of the party for him, where everyone is dead together, juxtaposed to Curly's party where everyone was nervous, uncertain, and fearful, but nonetheless still alive. Curly would take responsibility because he could, and if nothing else, could admit his faults, as Swansea put it for himself. But Jimmy's greatest sin was refusing to see his own faults (because its easier to believe you've done everything you could, than it is to believe you can still try harder), so when his mind started having trouble keeping up the lie to himself, he lost his footing, and fell into his own despair, as you depicted it. I wonder if, when he died at his own hand with all the time left to think before pulling the trigger, he had any regrets, like Swanson. I wonder if he believed he'd done everything he could, and that his death was justified, because he was "taking responsibility." "Taking Responsibility" is a theme throughout the game, and the understanding of it changes through time, and based on whose perspective we're looking through . Jimmy believed it meant "taking control" or "doing everything you can to remedy a situation," later on, while Curly as a captain believes responsibility is "keeping everyone alive and safe" until he learns later (when he cant do anything about it) that it means more than that. it seems like the devs wish to communicate that "taking responsibility" means to "do what is asked of you" or "whats expected of you." when taking responsibility, you dont do so AFTER failing to take responsibility; its not something done in response to failure (that would be accountability). Jimmy wanted to "take responsibility" at first, without knowing what it really meant. He believed "taking responsibility" meant "taking the position of captain" and when he realized it was more than that, he then thought of it as a means to apologize, without ever saying he was sorry until the end. Jimmy never did what he was asked of (which would've earned him trust, which comes before responsibility) and only did what he felt was right. Curly didnt do one thing he was asked of, and thats what brought them to the situation they were in, and he has to live with that. He can no longer take responsibility. Which is exactly why Jimmy's suicide, as well as the rest of his actions, were all self-serving. He didnt do anything for anyone else; it was just to make him feel like he's done everything he could. It was just to make him feel like he "Took Responsibility."

SPOILERS The awful thing IMO is what he feels guilt over. He glosses over how he SA'd Anya, attempted a murder-suicide and led to the death of the entire crew , instead he only acknowledges Curly and acts as if "Saving" him will make up for *everything*. He is such a worm of a human.

Something I noticed is that when Jimmy is taunting curly at the ground, he’s mostly up his ladder representing that he’s in a high position of power but he is still climbing the corporate ladder, but when curly gets to the top and Jimmy pushes him off the top, showing the fact that he took his place is captain at the top of the ladder 0:41
