It’s definitely geared towards the professional, I have 6 deferent Festool sanders and a CT26 dust extraction, I have a variety of brands of power tools, but when it comes to sanders I think Festool has it covered.

I kinda jumped in head first! This has been part of my long term plan for how I want to gear up my shop. At some point I will also add a track saw, but that is on hold for now.

Yes I would love to see your reviews of those other festool tools. I think this sander has a place in my shop buy I’m going to have to save a lot of pennies to get it. Great video!!!

Any preference on the domino first or the palm sander first?

@@EigenDesigns hard choice. I say the palm sander

One "pro" you could've mentioned at the end is resale value. Festool products hold their value very well. A way you can alleviate the "con" of the high cost of consumables is to purchase other sandpapers. 3M's Cubitron Xtract net discs are long-lasting and cut very well. There are excellent reviews of it here on YT. Among conventional sanding discs, Klingspor makes a quality paper in the Festool pattern.

The re-sale value is a great point. Here locally, I continually see Festool products that are many years old still selling for 70-80% of their resale value. That's definitely something worth considering. I have also heard a lot about 3M's Cubitron sanding disc line, although I haven't tried them yet myself. They are my next one to try once I go through my current inventory. Excellent comments. Thanks for sharing.

You got it Dawayne. I have picked up a few more Festool products in recent history so I will be coming out with some more content on these soon.

Congrats on the new toys dude! I bought a TS 55 FEQ when it came out in march and will be buying my first festool vac this coming wednesday. I'm going for the CT Midi; this one will be for mobile use, mostly sanding and tracksaw. For workshop use I plan on getting either the CT 26 or 36. I love that from the 26 up they all have the same suction. And the midi/mini have only 7 cfm less than the bigger vacs, which probably isn't even noticeable. Even the 26 can be a workhorse if used with a dust separator like the dust deputy. That's what I plan to do for the shop. The only downside of the 26/36/48 is the lack of built in bluetooth, which is an $82 add on. On the midi it's included, which is another reason I chose that one. For my first festool sander, I'm going for the ETS EC 150/5. Light weight, ergonomic, plenty powerful enough for the vast majority of sanding I'll do.

Thank you! The dust collection from the CT 26 is absolutely incredible. That's probably what I love most about the festool products that I have been using (e.g. domino, 2 sanders) is the efficiency of the dust collector. It really has been a game changer for me. I have the Festool TS 75 Tracksaw on order right now so I am excited for that.

One more thing, it blue tooth addon is really nice to have - especially if you plan to use it frequently without a festool tool, which would activatesthe auto on/off. I would personally recommend getting it if you can make the finances work out.

@@EigenDesigns Oh nice! The TS 75 will handle those slabs you work with nicely. Dust collection is one of the main reasons I decided to invest in festool; I have some projects that need to be done on-site, so good dust collection is paramount, especially with sanding. I cut some boards with my TS 55 using my basic dewalt shop vac and the results were just ok, which is why I fast tracked a festool extractor purchase. I'd love to see a video from you on the domino.

@@EigenDesigns Definitely! I already have the remote for the ct midi; since the midi has bt built in I only needed the $46 remote; for my workshop extractor I'll have to get the $82 set.

Disagree with all your con's. You don't need 2 hands, use vertical clamps. This is the only sander I use going on 5 years. Making a lot of cutting boards.
@EigenDesigns2 жыл бұрын
Even the con about the cost? $700 on a sander is a considerable investment. Have you ever used Festool's ETS 125 palm sander? It's a great sander with excellent dust collection at a third of the price. I think it's well suited for smaller projects and great value.

So all the negative aspects of the sander can be counteracted by safe sanding practices like clamping down pieces small enough that the torque of the machine can make move…..? Dangerous practices you are using with your review…
