In this week's interview, EigenLayer CEO and Founder Sreeram Kannan and Principal Researcher Soubhik join us to unpack how EigenLayer aims to become the coordination infrastructure of Web3. They discuss the vision for EigenLayer as a platform that allows developers to build and integrate specialized protocols through a shared security model backed by Ethereum staking. Kannan outlines the roles of stakers, node operators, and developers building actively validated services (AVS) within the EigenLayer ecosystem. They also explore potential AVS use cases like rollups, bridges, fast finality, and applied cryptography. They close out by discussing potential enshrinement and the 2023-2024 roadmap. Enjoy!

This was amazing! Every time I listen to an episode with Sreeram, I learn something new. It's interesting to see the narrative development from a primarily shared security network to a Saas-like network, but it makes a ton of sense. Would it be possible to do an episode just about EigenDA? Would appreciate a deep-dive into that one. Or an episode that would explore the various services leveraging EigenLayer.

@3:40 web2 each consumer application has 15 SaS in background. I wonder with web3, especially early web3, if say an eclipse using.. whatever.. say risc zero prover, celestia Da, SVM execution, Eth settlement.... I have a weekly held gestalt that that just feels risky that those things are being independently moved updated and that it might make the L1 L2 vulnerable to attack linearly with the amount of different protocol modules it's using? I think like Web two something goes wrong that's fine the money is still on the secure centralized database, and if one of the other thing gets hacked, so what but then it seems much more intertwined when you're talking about modifying that central server that holds the money. the L1 is the central server that holds the money right? It's not some sort of ancillary thing that if it goes down hacked kinda so what... its billions gone? Hope that makes sense.
