The animation for this game was godlike ahead of its time during its original reveal. No other game looked like it. Nowadays the animations wouldn’t be too shocking but for a game that was moving into ps3 after the ps2 was something to be amazed by the current gen of ps3.

I've been looking for this gameplay for years. I really thought this was going to be GTA 5. But once i saw some gameplay that reeeally looked like a possible gta game. It was in a desertic californian landscape. Some guy driving over the highway then goes to a small mansion with some guy that looked like big smoke or something like that. Driving and graphics were amazing for the time, it was like 2010. Never found out if it was a cancelled game or just a mod for another game

Wow this looks surprisingly pretty far along in development. All I remember from this game was its original cg trailer designed to look like gameplay but they actually did try to imitate the running and sliding animations from that trailer and the overall vibe. Edit: they show the CG trailer at the end of this montage of clips.

According to one of the devs, it was still in pre-production and needed about a year of development. I think it would've looked pretty good with some polish.

The fact they tried to pass off a CGI-trailer as gameplay blows my mind. Not sure how hard it was to tell back in 2005/2006 but in hindsight, it’s blatantly obvious it’s not real gameplay and it makes me cringe to think they really did this back in the day.

It was E3 back then and studios were doing it with the 360/ps3 debuts. Madden 06, Killzone 2, this game, I remember some vampire game where you hade duel wielding pistols (cancelled). Ghost recon advance warfighter. All cgi trailers. Once we found out they weren’t actually getting those graphics that practice sort of died off and they started putting disclaimers on the trailers.

most of the material is pre-rendered, it just looks too smooth for controller, maybe 10% of the shown "gameplay" is actual gameplay footage, still it was probably in the early stages of development. Maybe they will revive it one day but I doubt it. It met the same fate as The Getaway 3

It was a early demo and this was like from 2006-2008, a lot of the footage is CGI and screen tearing is due to fps and your monitor They cancelled The Getaway too for Eye Toy 🤦🏻‍♂️
