If you watch in slow motion, the initial "hair pull" was accidental. The Washington player was reaching for the ball and just happened at that very moment, the TCU player's ponytail swung near the ball at that time. TCU player needs to be more aware of her ponytail swings before assuming others "pulled it" on purpose.

Some of it can be seen on the video. 32 blue and 14 white (obviously). 2 blue grabbed 14 to try to hold her back, so she goes. 21 white hit 32 blue, so she goes. 13 blue hit 21 white, so she goes. The last one on the list for GW - Lok - must've come off the bench because she isn't listed in the box score as being active during the game.

Wow - TCU Fan here. The way this sounded on the news last night was that a GW girl yanked the pony tail to pull the TCU player away from the ball. What I see here is the TCU player (Cravens) wears her hair loose and it was on top of the ball when the GW player was trying to grab the ball and her hand got caught up in the hair. There wasn't a purposeful yank. Then the TCU player started the fight - she should get a multiple game suspension for this. What is really interesting, if you look at the two teams, all the GW girls have their hair (ponytails) rolled up and contained while the TCU girls have them free flowing. This makes me think of Tony Palomalu from the NFL and how the rules allowed players to be tackled by yanking them down by the hair without penalty. I wonder what the rules are on this for NCAAW. If I were the TCU coach I would immediately require the players to keep their hair contained.
