I am Connor MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod. I was born in 1518 in the village of Glenfinnan on the shores of Loch Shiel. And I am immortal. One if my favourite films, and what casting - A Frenchman playing a Scotsman, and a Scotsman playing a Spaniard. No, wait a moment... His character was (wait for it) Egyptian! What a film! Clancy Brown as The Kurgan, and that Queen soundtrack... Great one! ❤

Indeed - one of the best films ever! They got their geography a bit wrong though 😜. Glenfinnan is about 80 miles away from this castle (which was quite far for medieval standards) and neither of them was held by MacLeod clan. Castle was owned by clan MacRae, but Connor MacRae certainly doesn't sound as good. Besides, MacLeod territory started just few miles from the castle, so maybe they assumed it is close enough 😁. Glad you enjoyed it! I wouldn't say that the weather was particularly good for what we wanted to achieve. We didn't take under account that during the sunrise the sun will be hiding behind the mountain so we arrived too early, and later the light wasn't as interesting. Additionally the strong wind was dispersing any morning mist we hoped for and was making quite big waves, so there was no way to do the castle reflection in water either - so not ideal, but still ok 😊. We will do it properly one day though.
