@@Kei-sp4fg Because in the past, very few high profile Americans join China ranks. Americans wouldn't bat eye if she decided to compete for UK, AU, CAN or for that matter Japan. You know some narrow minded, low IQ Americans hate China with passion for its peaceful rise and for threatening American hegemony. Above all, they hate China because the most populous country in the world has a totally different system that proves it could get things done and not firing a gun shot to rise on top, which is detrimental to promoting the US style democracy and war mongering around the world.

@@asktheuniverse2718 Lets make this very clear. Regardless of all the unproven allegations, nothing can change the fact that she is half Chinese (and half American). Why is it so hard for people to understand such a simple thing. For a nation that is supposedly hugely supportive of freedom, they are now verbally abusing a teenager for embracing her heritage, not to mention leading on the hate against Chinese people (eh hem hitler anybody). Anyways, she is not the only person who decided to switch from Team Usa to another team and yet people are singling her out as if she commited some sort of crime. And by the way, whether it is Team Usa or Team China, it is only a sport event so chill with the whole traitor nonsense. True sportsmanship does not have room for any political spat.
