Their queer energy was all over the place, we can feel it, they can feel it, but unfortunately, it's always treated as subtext, and I hate that. They could have made them explicitly queer. I wanted more, and I wanted ALL. That being said, I totally recommend this movie. It's a good movie with a fun twist that it's a bit too dependent on, but it's not a lesbian movie, and that is the truth. If that was the case, why would there be any snippets of scenes where it shows Rebecca but not Eileen, e.g. Rebecca waiting for Eilenn in the bar?. I think Rebecca was real, but what we don't know is how much was real vs Eileen's imagination.

I saw this movie's trailer & saw a few reviews elsewhere in YT and I found this storyline very fascinating....so will watch when it becomes available in my area. But yes, as you shared with us Nancy, without giving major spoilers....also heard somewhere else that the movie has a surrealistic feeling & probably everything was happening in Eileen's mind. I strongly believe she was a product of Eileen's imagination. I've watched the movie several times, and each time I notice something new. This is the second time I'm posting this video; the first time, I shared my theory in the comments. I avoided mentioning it in the video to prevent major spoilers. It reminded me a bit of the Fight Club type twist where Rebecca was never real. In a way, I think the film had a happy ending. When she leaves town and smiles, it suggests she's finally free from her terrible life and can start anew in a different city as a different person. Regardless of Rebecca's truth, Eileen's ending indicates she's finally liberated from her self-imposed prison, where all she did was serve her dad and work in a dead-end job.

The movie gave the vibes of Carol 2015 in first half ...i was in love with character of Anne Hathaway until she turned into physcopath and disappeared, prompting Eileen to run off on her own.I am disappointed with the ending.But still excellent screenplay.Both actresses preformances are excellent.i actually watched the movie twice .and for both times i could not take my eyes from the screen...4/5
