@@LesbianMojo You know that she was discovered by a talent scout, on a beach, by pure chance. She did an ad for Pepsi and then became a model. She refuses to lose weight because she says models look better in photos but she looks better naked (with those wonderful curves that take anyone's breath away!). For me, she is a warrior. She does not change her way of being just because that is the will of the system or of others. I believe it was difficult for her to play this character, especially with so many people waiting for her to fail. But she's brilliant, she scared even me! You did well making this video. Women warriors should always be celebrated. About those who criticize her, they don't matter.

I loved Sofía Vergara performance even playing Griselda. It's more like a feminism and empowerment story, not trying to justify her cruelty but she was abused, robbed and more in a machista society. Ppl is criticizing Sofía even for silly things as her accent in her role but, excuse me, Griselda was born in Cartagena, just 100km from Barranquilla, home town of Sofía.

What a surprise! It's been a while since the Netflix series didn't have a queer female character. It was last October (the fall of Usher's house). In the past two years, the number of queer female characters on Netflix has dropped significantly 😔

I agree, the recent queer representation in Netflix series may not fully meet the depth and significance we need or deserve. And this show doesn't quite do that either; it's touched upon very quickly and lightly, not the best representation. Despite this, the show remains great, and Sofia Vergara does an amazing job, bringing a compelling performance to the screen. So it's most definitely a recommendation.

The way they handled Griselda's being Bi really feels geared toward men. Especially the random three way with Griselda. That girl just heard Griselda's name and kisses her deep. Like really she didn't even say hi lol. Sofia is a great actor but doesn't kiss women like she is actually into them for her character. I love them showcasing this odd misconception that America is some how paradise. I'm gonna pass on this because I dont like portrayal of this being for the male gaze. Not saying it is, but I only like female gaze stuff on this when on women relationships

Fair enough, I felt that their scenes with women were rushed, and I didn't like how they were handled. However, the show, in general, was good; I liked it. I agree with your perspective on how they handled Griselda's bisexuality; they could have done a better job. But I don't necessarily agree with the concept of the male gaze. As a woman, I didn't perceive the show as solely catering to the male gaze. I felt a genuine connection with the characters and their stories, which made it relatable to me. I also believe that the show had a broader appeal beyond just targeting a male audience. If it were geared towards men, a female character like Sofia Vergara's wouldn't have been in a position of power as she was, that was at least my perception. The show's visual beauty and Sofia Vergara's talent were undeniable, and despite its flaws, I found it enjoyable overall.
