Eimear Quinn Eimear, what a beautiful voice and song. I’ve posted to all my friends all over the world to include the Philippines, Japan and Iran. The song is an allusion to Ruach ha Kodesh, the Holy Spirit. Thank you, it was a wonderful birthday present for me par excellence 😊

It is this Presence of Goodness of life..that our being alive (no matter in what state, Christ on the cross, soon to die humanly speaking,...His mother at the foot of it...Stabat Mater) indicates within us.. [SPEAKS TO OUR VERY UNIQUE CONDITION AND UNDERSTANDS IT in the context of the whole Universe !?!]....our DNA being switched on in the 'right enough' combinations (despite our external human messing with non-watchful alignment to this goodness...)e.g.homeostasis including heartbeat etc within.... Right this moment! It WATCHES OVER US more than our parents did! IF WE ARE QUIET ENOUGH IN OUR PRAYERFUL CONTEMPLATION, we might observe and find , understand its GOOD PRESENCE in our inner temple ...like our hearts.... if you need a location for your focus. By personifying it, humans throughout the world and ages have created religions with its institutional ADULTERAtions.. because we cannot appreciate and aligned to this Spirit of wholesome , uniting Goodness externally. Each enlightened moment, we can awake to it ( the true daybreak ! ) and restart the alignment that unites and makes this world a better place from our UNITED, INDIVIDUAL EFFORTS.. The songs you sing allude to this message already... this Watchman, Voice....etc. and so is the innocent blessings of children's presence... witness how that UNITES young and old alike ! We call them 'angels'...from the Greek word 'messenger'. It is up to us individually to keep hearing the WORD of Universal Goodness and 'KEEP' aligning 'IT' , the Holy Spirit ....the most elusive of the Trinity even though its good presence is within and all around us... as Christ has taught you as a Christian.

Eimear Quinn , align to that inner goodness within then keep the message going as the Good Spirit does within all of us without exception.... it will help us to be more aware, hear it, and with the Spirit's help ... ignore it less!.. ha ha

Hi Eimear, my mum passed away this morning and I went for a drive to grieve on my own. I had to park up as I couldn't see through the tears. However, this song played on the radio and lifted me up. I tried to scribble down some lyrics so I could look for it once I got home and unbelievably after your chat on the radio ended, the host gave the details of who performed it, the name of the song and then played it again. I rushed home and found you singing The Watchman on KZbin and the video with it took it to another level. Listening and watching helped brighten my day, thank you!

I was captivated by Eimear Quinn's the instance I first heard the first note of "The Voice", and have been following her work ever since. So I was totally thrilled by there being new music coming out in 2020, and absolutely delighted by what came out. I don't normally comment on the interweb (who would be interested in my opinion anyway!), but over that time since "The Voice 2020" then this song "The Watchman" were released, I've developed an opinion and an itch to voice it, at least to Eimear herself. I note that Eimear's other admirers seem to be of the consensus that she still sounds -- and looks -- the same. I think commenting on a lady's look would amount to making personal remarks, but as for the voice I found it evident enough that, laid out for direct comparison by "The Voice 2020", it has matured; funnily I find that the maturation is even more evident in this one "The Watchman". Maybe that's because when recording the new orchestral version of "The Voice" Eimear cannot but recall when she was "The Voice" on Eurovision 1996, whereas "The Watchman" is an all new song, so she just fell into letting her voice embody Brendan Graham's new text however it would. On the most recent BBC Young Chorister of the Year competition (2020), judge John Rutter, the composer said of the winner -- a very delighted choirboy -- in his rendition of "The Virgin's Slumber Song" (Max Reger's) that his was the voice of hope for our time, that of a human, not a disembodied angel. I don't find Eimear's voice in 1996 that of a disembodied spirit, but John Rutter's distinction here helps to explain how I find Eimear's voice to have matured; I think it sounds more 'bodied' now, without losing the etherealness that first captivated me, and quite maternal, which I guess perfectly encapsulates where Eimear's life has headed since she became "The Voice". It's cold comfort, ultimately, especially at the moment, but 'voices of hope', and reassurance, do make a difference. There is a recording of "The Coventry Carol" on Eimear's last album, where she definitely sounded younger. And of course we have never had "The Virgin's Slumber Song" at all. (If Eimear has sung either at her numerous gigs over the years in Ireland that would be natural enough, but I live in the UK and can't really get to go to or see them.)

The Watchman is more than 'by my side' ..of each one of us with our different skin colours and unique make up.. He is abiding in that place within (Luke 17 v.21) "that of God " or in my books..."that of this presence of unconditional goodness " AGAIN ..in each of us ...traditionally worldwide ... represented by the heart... EVEN IF EXTERNALLY WE ARE TRAPPED IN Modern 21st century slavery of one sort or another. ... yes, watching over every (departing and growing) hair on my head...like the dance of my heartbeat ! within that context of 'broken alleluia's, your song is one of the least broken in our Alleluias, Eimear

I've listened Eurovision Home Concert and my 2 favourite magical winners from 90's performed today. ATM I am discovering more of your songs, becouse I am a big fan of Irish and Celtic music, like Celtic Woman or The Flogging Molly. This song is as stunning as The Voice and has the same vibe.
