Yes, I had seen this video and was impressed by your ability to work metals. Unlike some others who try to make a waterphone you have some integrity and know what you are doing.

If a person is going into production and sales I do not like it but there is not much I can do about it. Your effort is one of the more original approaches and the results sound good.

@waterphoneman Yes, I'm a master of silversmithing since 1992 an I like - no - I love this kind of working with metal and I do it in the 3rd generation. When I'm building such objects i forget the time. It takes about 20 to 40 hours depending on size. How do you feel when you see that someone builds objects that are inspired by the original Waterphone?

Hello, stainless steel discs and copper pipes are not easy to weld. Excuse me, what type of welding wire are you using? Is it using silver welding wire

You are obviously a skilled metal worker and have the right tools but your process looks long and laborious. How many hours did it take you to make this open type waterphone?

@waterphoneman I startet to create my version of the waterphone because a composer for soundtracks in Berlin told me, that you don't build waterphones anymore. I'm not sure what is true now. Do you realy have a Successor in America or do you only have imitators?

@waterphoneman But what about the next generation? I think the Waterphone is a fantastic invention, which should last longer than one generation. What will become of the Waterphone-Story, if there are only a few imitators, on which you're not happy? The Composer was not my friend. He was a man who wanted to buy a Waterphone in Germany and never got one, so he asked me. But he has bought from me none.I guess he has bought a cheap imitation. That's life.

To compare a waterphone from the waterphoneman with a waterphone from Helisepp is like to compare a harpsichord with a piano,

@waterphoneman I am very glad if you can accept my 2nd-generation Water Phone. I never would like to work against the father of the Waterphones. If you would like to hear my instruments you can have a look to this video. It was recorded with a better audio-quality

The waterphones from the inventor (me) sell at $1000, $1300, and $1600. This man is an excellent metal worker but he does not have the musical physics to back up his great metal work. My opinion.

My daughter may take over the waterphone but that is not for sure. My musical instrument business is up for sale but there seems to be no interest. There is someone in Germany selling knock offs of the waterphone and although I have not heard one, they look better made than the others I have seen. I think the composer was hoping for a very cheap waterphone and does not realize the effort that goes into making one that actually sounds good.

Your friend is mistaken as I continue to make, play, and sell my invention the waterphone. I probably will stop in a few years. Around the world I have about 4 or 5 people copying my invention and none of them even come close. Having invented and making the waterphone for 45 years I know what I am doing whereas they do not. Like you I am a 4th generation metal worker.
