Very good job, a very engaging video. Last time i was in holland was 2010. I think Amsterdam is beyond my budget now. Would you recommend Rotterdam as a possible alternative in terms of scenery et al?

Thank you for your kind words! Rotterdam is very different to Amsterdam in terms of scenery, architecture and the vibe. I would suggest looking into Utrecht, Leiden, Delft, Amersfoort. Perhaps, also consider nearby towns/villages like Duivendrecht or Haarlem.

If something appears on Funda, in many cases it has been sold already. Get a makelaar if you really want to fight for a property to buy.

The €200.000,- apartment in Eindhoven actually has ground lease as well. You do not own the ground but have got to pay €273,- per month to lease the ground.

Hey you. :) Yeah, it's insane, also in Amsterdam, there it's even worse. My monthly [disability] income is around 1200 euro, even renting a social housing house will give me problems and poverty. And then there is the problem with social housing that ... there hardy are any!!! Most of the social housing houses are sold for a lot of money to rich people and slumlords who buy the houses and rent them out for a LOT of money. so yeah .... huge housing problems all over.

If you look in the Funda's footer, there is a language option for English. It's difficult to balance the housing needs and good quality of like. Most countries bulldoze entire area to make ugly buildings, connected only by highways with little to no social life. Even it has its own problem, I'm happy the Netherlands didn't went this way.
