Great review, looks like a good purchase, I have a similar item from Aldi from the Ferrex Range but this has more functionality with the head rotation

English description for the unit is a Strimmer or Weed whacker

I've been using it for a year already and it seems to do a good job. The only minus is the weight balance. But nothing huge. And thanks for the proper name ✌🏼

I noticed you called the GC model a toy and in comparison to the GE model you might be right. However, for the price of this thing with the battery and charger, you might just as well buy a Petrol Strimmer with Metal Blades and one of those would make this thing look like a TOY! 😊😊😊. Sorry to say but personally I think this thing is well overpriced...

Absolutely true. A petrol one is also a toy compared to a lawn tractor. I used the therm toy in this case just to comoare the two, not to compare them to all other variants.

@@UltimateDIY I am actually looking at getting a strimmer right now and that's why I originally come here to see how good this particular model was for the money. I first clapped my eyes on the GC Model on Amazon and for the £79, it came with the battery and charger whereas this GE model was £93 without the battery and charger. Looking at the GC model you first showed it looks nothing like the picture they have of it on Amazon and they are most likely showing the picture of the GE model which is a bit deceiving of them. Now to be honest I am not looking for a petrol strimmer basically because I don't drive to be able to fill it up and not only that the fumes from them can be quite strong. I am a terrible gardener I have to admit and quite often I leave my front and back garden way too long to the point of them being well overgrown before I get off my arse and cut them 😊😊😊. Quite often it can be a pain to tackle the heavy brambles and weeds that grow especially in the back garden which is the bigger of the two. So I was looking for something that can use metal blades but not a petrol one. I have recently discovered quite a few cordless ones like this on Amazon that come with plastic, metal and even circular saw metal blades. Though most of these are from China and that is why they are around the £60 to £120 mark. To be honest they do look like they could tackle the job better than the Einhell GE-CT you have and you do get a lot more for the money. However, it might come down to how reliable they are especially as what you have has a brand name behind it and at the end of the day, I don't want to throw money down the drain so to speak.

The GE might struggle if there is really thick and dense stuff. I started to cut with it at least once over 2 weeks, otherwise it would just cut really slow. It does not break or anything like that, it just goes slowly trough thick stuff.

Hi. Can you modify this trimmer with string instead of that blade? Thanks
@UltimateDIY Жыл бұрын
Hi. Only with complex modifications and I don't know how good it would work.
