Wow! You did a great job comparing these devices. We like of how you did that presentation and the detail information. Thanks for the review!

Thanks for the comparison. Im definitely excited to geht m Vega . Coming from a range 1 it will be a major upgrade

How did it go with the range 1, can you give a quick explanation on what it could and couldn't do?
@rafall11182 ай бұрын
@@deanclements1839I have one and it's basically the same as Miraco's far mode but tethered. So its tracking performs mediocre as seen in the video, you need to scan very slowly and steadily not to lose track which is really annoying. It also sucks at scanning surfaces other than white or slightly gray. Nonetheless for its cheap price right now it's not too bad of a deal. But if I were to get a scanner for more than 1k it certainly wouldn't be Revopoint lol

@@deanclements1839 first of all you've got to mention that each sw update brought a massive improvement. It really has gotten a useful tool , it was garbage in the beginning . The wireless scanning is super convenient and basically all I use . What's absolutely not possible is to "around " an object and scan it from all sides. It will misalign when both ends meet. Also it loses tracking quite easily. Keeping the scans short and stitching them together is the way to go . It needs plenty of reference. Marker mode is a complete dumpster fire . Does not work at all.

Thanks for doing the video. With using the Vega would I still need to buy a gaming spec laptop for software (merging, alignment axis)

We didn’t get a chance to test it on the PC, but when we ran it on the Mac M1 Pro, it worked flawlessly.

Einstar (not Vega) or the Rev Miraco? Same budget for me…
@rakashi.workshopКүн бұрын
It’s two different beasts. If you going to scan objects that has small and large details - it’s better to use einstar. If you planning to scan very small objects alone or very big objects alone - it’s better to use miraco because it has different modes that are more dedicated, while einstar is more universal. Also you have to take envoiroment into consideration. If you do lots of remote scanning - miraco would be better.

It seems that Revopoint didn't like the review, so bought some comments from fake accounts. Wrong way to go Revopoint. :D You should focus more on the product than this. :D

I have got to say, the VEGA is not too shabby on the hardware front. But it has a real issue when it comes to scanning bigger items. It just does not handle them well. And when you are dealing with those larger objects that need markers? Well, that is where it really falls short.
@ultimaevo77Ай бұрын
The overview by the channel @CouchBuilt shows the scanner doing a whole car in one shot, in daylight, without markers.

It doesn’t fall as short as you think.

Hey, have you all tried calibrating yet? Man, I have been struggling big time with it. On top of that, I have been trying to scan black objects, and no matter what I do, I cannot seem to get a good result with my Vega. That little eagle figurine scanned just fine, but everything else I try, the tracking just goes haywire and veers off into oblivion. I am really starting to lose faith in the Vega.

How would you rate Vega againt Einstar for your usage?
@rakashi.workshop2 ай бұрын
You no longer thinking about - should I scan it or not? You just grab it and do it. No preparation required, no outlet required. It's just way simpler and faster to work. Also it definitely has better hardware as it's more for prosumer usage.

@rakashi.workshop! I use the Einstar and I know what you mean about the set up in a remote work area. I would get a Vega myself but it's more expensive than a good PC rig! :)

Have you tried plugging a mouse into the Vega? Would be awesome to edit point cloud with a bit better control

Justin: No we didn't. I'm not sure if it would work at all. I'm huge trackpad user so it's don't even have wired mouse anywhere. :)))))

Sorry, we don't know the manufacturer of the body kit because the owner brought it to us along with the car.

Well, this video did not explain a thing. I have got the Vega sitting right here next to me... and honestly, they only let you use marker alignment in HD mode, which is just not ideal when you are scanning bigger objects. So, the main reason I would even bother with markers-scanning large, flat things-is pretty much out the window! I just cannot wrap my head around why they thought that was the way to go.
@rakashi.workshopАй бұрын
Yeah, it's really frustrating when marker alignment is limited to HD mode, especially for scanning large, flat objects. We've heard from Shining 3D that marker alignment will be available by late September to early October. That should make scanning those hard-to-track surfaces much easier.
@TheShift1313Ай бұрын
Check out the miraco plus with the photogrammetric metrology kit. It lets you capture the markers first and then scanning large objects like a car is much quicker and more accurate.

Man, let me tell you, on some of those LEGO models, the Vega really struggled with the black pieces. And do not even get me started on the overheating - the thing runs hot real quick. The accuracy? Eh, not much better than the Einstar, to be honest. Why do not you make more of a point about that?

Failed comparison video! I usually watch videos for a unique perspective, and I see that your video is all about Vega. I guess you\'re getting a lot of Vega sponsorship money!
