Beautiful day in Texas! Sunny and 75 degrees on the porch!
I get a lot of inquires about Einstein's chest and why he has lost feathers. It's a habit he has developed over the years and we are working to resolve the issue. He goes to a very good avian vet and he is healthy. No one knows why some parrots pick their feathers. It is an issue that has never been scientifically researched and at best has only been hypothesized. He's never been abused, neglected or abandoned. He eats a very healthy diet, has many toys to play with, gets plenty of rest, and is not stressed. He only does it at night. It's a terribly frustrating issue for many parrot owners. My chat about it begins at timestamp 11:07.

Einstein Parrot is a very talkative African Grey Parrot! He lives with us in our home in Texas and was hatched on June 15, 1997. Einstein is a silly, smart, and popular parrot who loves to talk and entertain! (He is NOT the "Einstein" that was featured on the TV show Animal Planet.)
