As Mileva became more well-known, Einstein's circle panicked and are trying to belittle Mileva in her research. The crucial point to be noted here is that rather than Einstein being a bad husband and a man, it is possible that Mileva, not Einstein, made the discovery that changed the history of physics. To ignore this point these days and present his as a bad husband and a man rather than someone who stole Mileva's work is to distort the point. We often see people reading Mileva and Einstein's letters these days, but I think what they're doing is just trying to hide the truth. Maybe, Einstein's insistence on divorce is to prevent Mileva from receiving any honors in his soon-to-be Nobel Prize and erase her name from history. and it looks like he's done it for more than 80 years. but the truth has a habit of coming out sooner or later.

Thanks for sharing this, Toby. I was not very familiar with Albert Einstein’s personal life and I couldn’t agree more with your assessment that people should place ideas in high regard rather than trying to justify idolizing a specific person with all the complications that brings. Nobody’s life is perfect and although it is important to use that a way to keep us grounded in reality, there is no reason to try to fit the entirety of a person’s messy life onto a pedestal that should be reserved for the pure value or concept itself.

This was quite interesting. One thing I noticed about the divorce papers was that it doesn't just indicate something negative about Einstein's private life but it also suggests something negative about the law in Germany and also most other countries at that time, where the only way to get a divorce was for one of the parties to be 'at fault', through having cheated or the like. This led to the perverse outcome where if no one was at fault and the reason for the divorce was nothing more than unspecified 'irreconcilable differences', the couple in question would basically have to LIE to the court (thus committing the crime of perjury) just to get their divorce finalized. That's one of the reasons why legal systems started to remove the requirement for 'fault' for divorces to be granted. Such legal changes mostly took place in the 1970s, with the change in Germany's law taking place in 1976. These days, divorcing couples would not be forced 'air their dirty laundry' of affairs and scandals in official court documents. They could instead keep their private business private, with the opportunity for such things to be forgotten by history!

@@a.mo7a No way, no offense in your opinion. But how could they made his house for public? I mean cmon, are there any privacy for a genius scientist on the world like him? Think about it, lol my head gonna explode.

@@excusemequeencomingthrough7684 I'm not sure if it's real or not... but lots of deceased public figures' houses are open for public... It depends on their relatives' consent.

Ah Tibees, I knew there was reason you were so interested in the private light of a great scientist. And there it is. We should admire the concepts, thoughts, and discoveries of great people but NOT idolise them as if they were superhuman, because they are not, they are just human. You are very clever.

@FlyingMonkies325 I agree, the education system has many faults including teaching students en masse and ignoring their individual strengths.

One thing we’ve learned is that Einstein has spectacular handwriting. Though I will say that even my own poor penmanship is improved by the use of a fountain pen as was obviously used for writing these letters, and as Toby no doubt knows as she is pointing with a fountain pen.
@bobbwc70113 жыл бұрын
LOL you do realize that the original letters are in German, right? What you see are translated replicas :P This is not really his handwriting. :P

This video gave us great insight into the social mind of Einstein, not much different than many famous people in Hollywood and elsewhere, all human beings with respective frailties. I''m sure that similar papers are possibly available for many other genius types who have so "impressed us" over the years. Thank you for the video.
