I had not heard the "Room Noises" album in years. I'm so glad I went looking for Eisley's music tonight and got to hear these luscious arrangements again. I grew up in the 60s and 70s when a lot of highly regarded albums were made. I would put this album right up there with them. It's some beautiful stuff.

We'll all die and our (small or serious) collections will be someone else's or among piles of trash. Now that I got the minor&light (since I never said how we'll die) party pooper reaction/perspective/indirect warning out of the way: Grats, I hope you're still listening to it and never sold it ^^

After discovering Room Noises in the early 2000's, I became this kid that was all about nature. Taking walks through the woods, picking wild flowers and tending to my garden even in the rain. I was trying to see all the beauty nature provided thanks to Eisley lol

That's so sweet and kinda jaw dropping to me xD I never was or will be that kinda of guy, I prefer the "respect everything and interfere only when help is required and let natural environments alone" approach. But that's just "unrealistic" nowadays, especially with the "leaders" and companies etc etc that ppl tend to support and the idiotic numbers of population. As I always say, in some random paragraph spree: self-inflicted prophecies and trolling/triggering/hating/blaming others while fulfilling them yourself (all results from/and forms of stupidity, immaturity, complexes) must be the way all the confident elitist swagflex mobs and lunatic ppl show their supposed intelligence... priorities and choices and consequences/vicious cycles/paradoxes are actually quite simple but hey, convenience and carelessness and either ostrich or "predator" behavior seem better and the only way to see life as enjoyable, to most, and who cares about solving issues that are maintained and persisting due to pretty much everyone (Sum 41 knew, and these guys weren't the only ones). p.s. in this regard my sister sounds a lot like your description (without really being "brainwashed" by a band) but I'm definitely not a flowery guy personally, plants equal too many insects and I generally prefer them to be elsewhere, not in my room or bed or something, lol... well, spending ages to (as gently as possible) relocate and save (got many cats btw; no specism involved, I swear :p) each "intruder" I find on top of all the other chores and unnecessary troubles isn't the best :/ room noises don't involve bug sounds usually... good thing spiders are silent I guess, but the ones I could never stand while living in an apartment were the silverfish, which are also silent and beyond sneaky...

This song brings me back.... I'd listen to this on my DVD player and go fairy hunting in the forest in my backyard; making fairy houses out of twigs, flowers and moss... I miss being a kid so much it hurts, I was so happy and hopeful...

I remember the first time I heard Room Noises. I had never heard of Eisley before. A good friend put this CD in; we were driving down a long desert highway to work. I knew as soon as I heard her voice I would love them. Just knew it. Never had that happen before...And Room Noises remains as one of the most hauntingly beautiful albums I've ever heard. I've listened to this album literally hundreds of times and I still feel like it is one of the most underrated albums made in the last 10 years.

What a genius family to be making music like this at such a young age. They probably were too unique, original and authentic to catch on HUGE with the mainstream, unfortunately "gimmick" trumps talent often times in the music industry. They still have plenty of fans though and a level of success to be proud of. Still making great music as well.

I found this band after going through a rabbit hole. One member caused the split between Brand New and Taking Back Sunday (Jesse and John), one married the singer from Say Anything, one married the singer of Taking Back Sunday. And I guess the original guitarist of TBS Eddie has been in a lot of 90s emo bands

It makes me happy that they are doing well. they are entirely unique in this day and age. or any age for that matter. I started listening to them when their first album came out. He was throwing grain to the ground below, ground below With dreary circles of his arm, going slow, very slow His cap pulled down round his ears to hide the smile and watery tears My loving life is so wonderful how small seeds gracefully to grow into beautiful things that spring from these rows With their musical names and musical sound Dreary birds parade across the dreary sky, down below the woman absent mindedly begins to sow, how she sows the seeds her husband loved so much, but he's no longer here with us But her life is so beautiful as memories continue to grow into beautiful things that spring from these rows With their musical names and musical sounds Beautiful things that spring from these rows with their musical names and musical sounds, and musical sounds Distant tho I am orange, gold, and green firing, flaming, colors surround me I'm always wondering where you are? I'm always wondering where you are? Darling shouldn't I be the one wondering after all I am the one who is gone I'm always wondering where you are I'm always wondering where you are Darling shouldn't I be the one wondering after all I am the one who is gone I'm always wondering I'm the one, who is gone I'm the one, who is gone who is gone But, there's beautiful things that spring from these rows With their musical names, and musical sounds there's beautiful things that spring from these rows With their musical names, and musical sounds and musical sounds

Together, give or take, for 25 years and only 5 albums. Their music is generally good and beautiful, yet perhaps it has not brought the rewards that are generally reaped for a successful band. I wonder what's held them back. So much talent and wisdom within the arrangements and lyrics, you'd expect they'd have the idea that we don't live forever. Of course, life brings it's own nasty surprises, and maybe they are to be lauded for fighting the good fight. I can't help but wonder though.
