Jarðartrá is like a "yearning for death", like death is calling to you, while "dust to dust" is a catchy way to say a similar thing, but not quite the same. The Faroese term for the Biblical "dust to dust" is either "jørð til jørð" (Earth to Earth) or "mold til mold" (soil to soil).
