Francesca is my favorite character so far. I laugh my ass off every time she shouts stuff out.

There's definitely a number of characters who are pretty weak early on, like Mio. They're supposed to be physical attackers, but they have lower physical attack power than characters like Garr and Yusuke. And while their magic is a tad above average, it's usually not enough to focus on magic damage like a true mage. One thing to really help them out, particularly in boss fights, are the elemental enchantment runes to add extra damage on their physical attacks. The extra damage is based on their magic stat, so characters Yusuke suck at it, while others like Seign and Mio are prime candidates.

Kuroto has tremendous speed!! Great for fast heals to keep the team alive

Loved the video, it's just the kind of content i wanted about this game. One thing you might hace missed is that garr can equip a shield. Making him (and not kuroto) the first armored character you get, and also making him more tanky than nowa

That's unfortunate to hear about Yume. The 2 slot characters in Suikoden 2 were really cool (Shout-out to that sick Unicorn) , so seeing one given this early, but with these brutal drawbacks is tragic. I can see alot of people seeing it as too much hassle with that kind of first impression. Regardless, thanks for the video!

Mio gets really solid mid/late game as a phys damage dealer, I'm talking 1k plus damage on a 5 SP Iaido Strike, once you unlock all her rune slots and the higher tier SP conversion runes I'd recommend dropping the magic runes

agreed. Boosting her sp and taking advantage of her naturally high dex make focusing on Iai slash very worth it.

I love this :) I'm pretty far into the game, myself (character levels in the mid-40's), and I've been trying to keep most of my characters caught up just to see what unique rune lenses there are, but some of them I'm struggling to find a good set up for. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on each character's use~

There’s gotta be *something* that Yume does, right? Like, even if not straight away, she would have to have some kind of redeeming quality?

She does start coming into her own around level 30, which is about where I'm at. Her strength and both defences start to skyrocket around level 20, atm she's easily the tankiest unit I've used so far to both physical and magical attacks, and while she's no major powerhouse and is still mad slow, her damage output from basic attacks is about on par with Nowa. I'm playing on Hard with no modifiers, most of my team takes 30-60 damage from attacks they're good against, 50-80 to ones they're weak to, Yume however I've never seen take more than 15 from a single hit.

But yeah, that said, just like in the video I can't recommend using her for the earlygame. After you unlock the character for Fast Travel, as well as the other characters she wants for her Hero Combo and level them up to mid 30s, that can be a very fun squad to run.

She's also one of only a couple or so characters in the game capable of equipping a mid-to-late game rune skill called Charge Smash. While it still doesn't make her an insane powerhouse, it's still pretty unique to her. Rune slots really make or break a lot of characters in this game.

Definitely keep doing these videos. I've only started the game and already missed someone. It's Yune so it doesn't seem like I'm missing much but good to know when I do miss someone. I already have a character that wasn't mentioned here so I'm gonna go back and get her

Some of the later characters have entire quest chains to unlock... some of which i've not bothered with yet. Doing the entire bayblade or cooking duels is more time than i want to spend

Hi Tom, I'm a new subscriber, thinking of joining the membership as soon as I can. A suggestion if I may, instead of orally mention your supporters every so often, why not make some sort of credit screen with all of the supporters listed in writings, and only orally mention the 'higher tier' patreon's patrons. By that you can shorten the duration for supporters shoutout, and/or add more personal take (opinion or even jokes) on the video that may or may not related to the major topic, while the list rolling on the screen. Who knows, maybe by that you can do supporters shoutout in every video instead of only in a single video every week/month?

maybe I am missing something.. but hero combos feel completely irrelevant. They often take too much time and too much sp cost just to do the same amount of damage with 2 characters that 1 character does. You would think that for that cost both skills would equate more than the sum of their costs.. but 90% of the time it seems better to just ignore them and use units individually.

I find most hero combos do output less damage than the individual attacks. Sometimes, the turn order is lowered or increased compared to their individual units, which might be nice. A few of them that i have that are very nice are between Falward + Francesca and Seign + Nowa. 1SP for a good damage all enemy aoe is usually really good

@@edd0125 I do agree that the single SP cost, global target are worth it. Sadly they are the exception, and certainly not the rule. Most of them really don't feel worth it.

I see Yusuke more of the boss killer than Iugo as Yusuke is better in control and deal more damage than Iugo when he charged up.

Yes ! A build guide. I looked on KZbin and i found only one guy who did show some build .... but it was only for 4-5 characters Edit : should have guessed it wouldn't be about the best rune/equipment/auto-battle setup since it was not focused on one character. Can't wait for the next videos

As I get further in the game I'll start having gear and Rune reccs. Just a little too early atm.
