My first car was an EJ Station waggon same colour blue. Bought it 1967 and it never missed a beat. Only mechanical repairs were the rear wheel bearings and generator and normal maintenance which was never missed. The rocket cover gaskets also required replacement on occasion. Had it for 10 years and sorry I let it go. Look forward to the restoration. The good old days when you knew what was under the bonnet and had easy access to most components. Joe

Same here, only mine was a sedan in all white, with a red interior, loved that car. Mine was an ex-taxi and it still had a pram rack on the back when I bought it. Never had any mechanical issues with it, reckon it would have stopped a tank (nah, just joking) had reasonably good fuel economy for those days, (like I'm talking when petrol was 29 cents a gallon, back in the late 60's and 25 miles per gallon was considered good, minis in those days did 45 mpg) and I also was sorry my Dad talked me into trading it for something else, but that's another story.

Pretty neat! So my 55 Bel Air is it’s original blue! Looks neat the same color blue on your Holden! The bel air was originally a 235 straight six and three speed manual shift on the column. Was blessed the driving joy is it has a borg Warner over drive! The over drive just keeps the car from driving like it’s gear bound! Also one of my favorite color combinations is the pink with charcoal gray two tone! Love the original blue of the Holden! Look forward to see how you develop it! Is the Holden a manual shift or automatic? Because for my bel air the shift handle is on the right side of the column! I’m hopelessly right handed and almost fall on my face imagining shifting with my left hand! Neat car buddy!
