would have been better off with GH3 or GH4 (mic input) for video - also the Panasonic GX7 might have been a better option with 3 axis IBIS and more video options besides most Panasonic M43 lenses have IS - the Sony A6000 is also decent in video but no mic input and limited lens selection but about the same price- so for your requirements sounds like the EM10 works fine

I was under the impression the GX7 only has IBIS for photo not video, unless they updated the firmware and I didn't realize. I usually use an external audio recorder with a wireless mic, so audio is no problem for me. I do have my hands on a GH4 right now and it is lovely in every way. I love how complete Panasonic cameras are. My EM10 is kinda like my super low gear option and everyday travel camera.

ExcitementBicycle You are right just IBIS in the GX7 for stills - but most all the Panasonic lenses have IS - I do have FF Nikon gear and Fuji X series and Sony NEX 5n and 7 and the OMD-EM5 and must say that I like using my GX7's the most - very feature rich and menu system very logical and touch LCD very nice and so many Fn buttons like the GH3/4 and C1 C2 C3 - the OMD5/10/1 have the very nice IBIS - But the GH4 is a no brainer for video work

Welp, good thing I got rid of my hands (because of the things they've done), that why there is no shacking at all on any of the video shootings I make... except when there are earthquakes, gotta hate those (but can't get rid of 'em tho). But on a very serious note, I've bought that camera for my GF and I (would you believe it if I told you she knows even less than I do about cameras?) can't see why the 14-42 mm EZ lens is so bad that you decided to label it mediocre. Usages of the camera are : shooting memories of friends, family and vacations (and MAYBE shooting artsy garbage for the internet, at least that's why she wants the camera), oh and did I tell you she loves to shoot fallen leafs in autumn? Anyway, I don't give a shit, just wanna know from the very best photographer out there if I should consider to rip me a new one and get a beefy lens, of if my already stretched one was enough to satisfy my GF with just buying the basic kit? Zanks.
