Following immediately after the events of THE RAID, Rama (Iko Uwais) is forced to reinvent himself as an undercover cop in order to provide protection for his wife and child. Working for the anti-corruption task force led by the one person he can trust, Bunawar, he is given a mission to engage himself as an enforcer for a local mob boss, Bangun. Finding a way in through Bangun's son Uco, Rama must hunt for information linking Bangun with police force corruption. One thing I love about this movie is how the main characters don't look invincible or able to kill guys with one punch. They don't look like "I'm gonna beat some sense into the bad guys", Rama and Eka both look like they're fighting for their lives, and the fight scene in the car takes forever because it really isn't easy to knock someone out.

Also Eka later dies because of his wounds. It shows that these characters we care about don’t have that plot armor most action movies fail to recognize and therefore we can invest ourselves in the scene more.

Gareth Evans confirmed that, had a third film been made, it would’ve been about Bejos gang against the yakuza and would’ve been focused on the gang war between them rather than Rama himself. It’s probable that the yakuza brought him back to health or what not but rip to the raid franchise, because Gareth isn’t making anymore.

Wow, that was an intense action set piece. And the music very much reminded me of the great music that was with the Russian car chase scene in the Bourne Supremacy. Very much enjoyed this scene and movie. Really top notch stuff. What a great Director this is who directed these 2 Raid movies. Really making a name for himself. At 3:00 the camera moves inside the front passenger window & then through the car & out the rear window, Wanna know how? Because the empty cream passenger seat is actually a second camera man disguised as a car seat in a costume who reaches up takes the camera & then guides it out the back window. Crazy.
