Yes the shear force could have been found from one side only, i.e. either from left or from right but I have doubt as to why sir took both from left as well as right side ☹️☹️

180 is distributed load acting along the beam , he changed the distributed load into concentrated load( which means 180x1=180 ) then he multiplied by half which’s the distance from the load to the point he’s taking the moment
