Just listened to your podcast and I got to say you're a brave man to make that step. I remember these knife makers making the same step (Aaron Gough, Trollsky and Pariah knives) going full at it. They were worried but look at them now....they have not failed. I wish you success, fortune and happiness. BTW I need a folder in my pocket with Ekim logo on it😉 but first need to get the 2x72.

It will be a while and that is if I ever become a full time knife maker. Still need to come up with couple of styles that I would be willing to keep making over and over. I get bored doing same thing over and over, that is why I try to make a different knife each time.

Mike, I just finished listening to your podcast. I too would love to have a laser engraver, but I can't afford one. To avoid having to etch my blades, I picked up an old New Hermes pantograph engraver. They are very expensive if you buy new, but I picked up an older one at a local auction for less than $200.oo. You can still screw up a blade marking with an engraver (ask me how I know), but I find it much more reliable and adaptable than an etching machine.

Hi Mike, watching your vids made me realize just how much work goes into making a HAND MADE knife. I just started making knifes and its time consuming and my first few knifes look like crap compared to yours. I have a problem grinding the bevels to match on both sides of the blade, your vids are very helpful and your personality is great. If anyone thinks that a hand made knife it to expensive they should try and make a knife and they will see the cost and time involved that goes into making a great looking knife. Mike keep posting the vids I look forward to watching your work.

Welcome to fatherhood. Your child will take your love to a whole new level. Your a hard working man and making your dreams happen. I admire you for what you are accomplishing. Thank you for sharing your journey with the world. Make sure you make time to hold your son, he will only be a baby for a very short time. Make time to hold your wife or you'll only have them both for a short time. You appear to be a good man and that is what takes to be a good father. More important is to be a great husband. do that and everything else will fall into place.

Hey Mike, Great to here you made such a hard and scary decision. I am certain that you will make some great things in the future to add to your already wounderful work. I can only hope that I can be on the same level as you and some of these great guys that have commented. I am just getting started and have yet to even get a 2x72 so for now all my builds have been done by hand and files. On the bright side of that though I have sold every blade I have made except for the knife I made for my son. If you would have an interest in seeing some of my work it would be an honor to have you comment and give your honest openion on my work. You can see it at martinandshan Moldovan here on youtube I call my self M&S Blades. Thank you for all your great videos I have learned more from your videos than many others I have watched.. Oh and congrats on the baby You will have many good years watching him grow. ( especially since you work for yourself) .. As noted before I can only hope I get as good as you great builders someday. Thank you for everything and God bless you and your family from mine. Martin M&S Blades.
