God I can’t wait til Arcane Ekko makes his version of the Z-Drive. I think it won’t work the exact same way it does in the lore, but still it’s very iconic.

@@rimurutempest4945 I mean it literally shows jinx shooting him, then plays the replay sound effect and moves through the whole fight in normal speed, except him dodging the bullet the second time through. Also it shows him looking at his device thing that he's holding the hextech crystals in right before the fight. My guess is he set a period someodd seconds into the future, where he would flash back to the moment before, and he used the stopwatch to determine when that would be.

@@gabegillespie8172 The sequence is basically a stylistic setup to show that he's the only one worthy of recognizing and manipulating time centric situations like the fight. He doesn't literally use a z drive type device so much as he recognizes and baits jinx into falling for a trap he sets up because he knows what she'll do before she even does it. (Hence the anime like flashback to their childhood fights)

I think it goes to show that ekko doesn't use his ability as a crutch but as an extension of his already gifted abilities and knowledge. I love how the show portrayed him and I hope we get to see the final z drive in action come s2

Ekko in the game universe is so wholesome. He's a time breaking teen who beats ass on the regular but always stops to enjoy the sweet moments of life - like when his parents give him the present.

For me personally the saddest part of his lore is about the friend he's been desperately trying to save with rewind and who died no matter what. You can see his portrait on the wall in Ekko's champion teaser. I'm not really into this character myself, but this boy somehow hits some strings of mine.

Arcane seems to be the perfect “it’s not accurate but it’s still awesome” show. From what I’ve heard it greatly goes off lore. It’s still mostly there but it shows a show doesn’t have to be exact

Yeh Ekko being an orphan in arcane low-key pissed me off at first cause it felt like such a drastic change, but when I saw the direction they were going with his character and his little gang of kids being more pronounced part of his story it all made sense I hope they progress his character more in S2 both physically (like with Jayce) and thematically, I know there's alot to juggle but hopefully he has more screen time than S1, or at the very least joins up with Jinx on her adventures to Ionia/Noxus in the new series

I like ekko from the lore more just cause of that one story about his friend falling and he cant figure out how to save him and he keeps rewinding time over and over and over again until he realizes that its a fixed point in time and theres nothing he can do to save them basically discoverying what nexus events are in the most heart wrenching way he litterly had to watch gis friend die over and over and over again until he eventually had to let go

Ekko, the lore explains him as losing a friend(s) and being LITERALLY 1 second too late, no matter how many rewinds. Arcane, Mylo and Claggor were kids he was close with, both of which die. What if Ekko was there, just too late. What if arcane Ekko thinks Jinx, Claggor, Mylo, even Vi, are his fault. Granted he was young when *the incident* took place, but to be fair, his parents aren't even present in Arcane so I think it wouldn't be a stretch to think he tries to travel that far back, fucks something up, realizes 4 seconds is the MOST reasonable way to travel, comes to terms with what he's lost and refuses to let zaun lose its spark, working kind of like the Batman of zaun, inventor by day, vigilante, anti-hero by night. Hell they can still work his lore into Arcane by having him find a package with a bunch of money and a note for "when he's finally old enough" and it tell him to use the money they had saved to go up, live a better life than the one he was living, only for him to use it to, instead of head to piltover, buy an artifact from "a mysterious shuriman merchant with really long grey hair" or "finds a book written by an ancient scholar depicting how to see into the future" but Ekko reverse engineers it to crack time travel. Either way, Arcane is sitting on a GOLDMINE with Ekko and Vi, especially with their interactions. Vi, being an enforcer upholds the law, but really just likes Caitlyn and breaking shit, Ekko abhors the law, works as a leader rather than a follower and fixes almost everything.

Yea... But the main cast of Arcane is an ensamble of pretty much the least interesting back stories so, its not that high a bar. Not saying Ekkos lore isnt good, just that he didnt really have alot of opposition. Viktor and Singed are probably the closest. Viktors us rather interesting and ties into alot of the world building and Singed is just so friggin dark and raw.
