The old prevailed over the new, as former British and Commonwealth welterweight champion, Ekow Essuman, knocked out Owen Cooper in the tenth and final round of a barn-burner. Cooper, a dozen years younger than Essuman, showed confidence, skill and speed early on, but couldn't keep the ominous, pressing presence of Essuman off him. Both men hit the mat, but it was the older man who finally prevailed.

Actually while I remember to make this point Joe Dont you think it is a WISER choice to have a shaved head in boxing PURELY for less TELL in the impact of shots to the judges? Ive thought this many times. The floppier the hairstyle , the more it SNITCHES on the fighter receiving the blow I always find!! 😂 Obviously afro hairstyles are fine but I mean FLOPPY haircuts that are like shampoo adverts 😆 Also. I remember when BEARDS were under check with some refs. Thick beards being thought to produce SOME cushion from the blow.

It's a point worth making. I'd have short hair or braid it up like the girls do. Longer hair can make punches look like they've landed with more impact.
