Continuation from previous viedo. First driving around Downtown Helsinki, then Friday rush hour highway traffic to Järvenpää.

@@lupebogi It's called the speed limit.

@@Tuppoo94 To be fair, a 30-40kmh speed limit range is a wee bit ridiculous, even for an urban setting. I gotta hand it to the Finnish though, they see a speed limit and they are hell bent on following it. Makes me wonder why I'm seeing so many sports cars and such, and how Rally Racing became such a popular sport there.

It's funny to observe in the center of the city the remains of Soviet architecture.
@Tuppoo944 жыл бұрын
It's Finnish architecture. For a while it was quite similar though.

You mean Russian? The old city center around Helsinki cathedral was planned by German architect Carl Ludvig Engel under the Russian rule in 19th century. There's not much to "remain" from Soviet times as Finland was never under Soviet rule.

@@tissot233 Yes, of course, I meant the Russian Empire. Definitely an influence is present.

@@auvomesilampi6325 Yes, I know Finland seceded in 1917, 5 years before the formation of the Soviet Union, but more than 100 years of slavery could not pass unnoticed and leave no signs.
