The Chilean Forest and Its Inhabitants
A large part of southern Chile’s territory is covered by an evergreen forest known as the Temperate Coastal Rainforest. It is the habitat of a unique yet fragile wildlife and plays essential ecological roles in soil conservation and water regulation. This documentary shows us the birth of the forests in Chilean territory, exploring its characteristic flora and fauna, and takes us to the activities that have allowed humans to sustain ancient trades. It also highlights how, paradoxically, this native forest has suffered great devastation that threatens its survival, including large forest fires.
