El Cajon (Spanish: El Cajón, meaning "the box") is a city in San Diego County, California, located 17 mi (27 km) east of Downtown San Diego. The city takes its name from Rancho El Cajón, which was in turn named for the box-like shape of the valley which surrounds the city. El Cajon was incorporated as a city in 1912. For the first half of the twentieth century, El Cajon was known for its grape, citrus and tomato agriculture. El Cajon offers residents an urban suburban mix feel and most residents rent their homes

My home town, born and raised. Has it truly become so bad ? I haven't been back in many years. People ask why I miss it so much and I tell them I miss what it was and all the best things that happened in my life happened there from meeting my wife, high school friends and kids. El Cajon and San Diego in general was an awesome place thru the 80s, 90s and into the early 2000s. Hopefully someday before I pass away I can see it return to something of it's former self. Would love to spend my final days back home, would seem like a fitting end having come full circle to leave this world where I came into it.

I've been delivering to that Target on Broadway and that place is looking hood to me, with all the homeless and drug addicts. Looks like it was a nice middle class area that's gotten really bad.

In the 80's El Cajon began to build a ton of apartment complexes, making it a very affordable place to live. It wasnt without its consequences however, bringing drug abuse, poverty and crime. The Sycuan casino and Mt. Helix are places you should visit in El Cajon.

Ok ok. I went to Sycuan Casino to eat my first free meal so guys if you never been to Sycuan Casino go in go get your sycuan card to gamble and you get your first free meal there for free. All the casinos do this in san Diego! I had so much fun just going to the casinos to eat. I dont know how to gamble. I suck 😕 badly. I miss California! Lived there 30 years. I attend high school briefly in El Cajon. I am living in san antonio Texas. Its okay, but i will return to my home in rancho Bernardo soon

I grew up in El cajon used to cruise 2nd Street in the '80s and '90s lot of fun we'd go to the beach unfortunately meth took over everybody's life ruined a lot of people good people now it's mostly owned by Arabs it's a horrible ghetto lots of drug addicts spend some time in the El cajon jail it was quite a view

The only thing in El cajon to do is go to the car show and the moll they are taking the only drive in that we have out and they are getting rid of the last Burger King so what is there really to do in EL Cajon California WHAT!😡
