This was my initial short review after watching it earlier today: El Camino was to Jesse, what Felina was to Walt. I was fine with how Breaking Bad ended, and was fine with how they left Jesse's character driving off into the night. But over the last few episodes of Breaking Bad, the show focused more on Walt and very little on his off sider. El Camino was the farewell to Mr Pinkman that we didn't quite get from Breaking Bad. Before the movie came out I had asked the question " is this going to be a story worth telling?" My answer? Yes, El Camino was a story worth being told.

Jesses face of sadness when he heard that Walt was found dead broke my heart Jesse driving away in Alaska at the end remembering Jane and her philosophy of you can decide where the universe takes you also broke my heart. Even though he loved Andrea and her son Brock, he’ll always love Jane like no other. And the fact that Jesse is deep down a good person, and that was ripped away from him, he didn’t deserve that. That end scene where Jessie looks at Jane was so sad. Breaking Bad didn’t really delve that strongly into Jessie and Janes relationship but we know that they spent a lot of time together. I probably would’ve cried if El Camino pulled a Assassin Creed 4 where Jessie looks at a table or something and see all his past friends like Jane, Walt, Mike, Saul, Andrea, Brock, Skinny Pete, And Badger. That would’ve been too much to handle for me

Honestly, prior to this movie, Jesse's ending was... well, wasn't. It was non-existent. He just goes "Ducktales, Whoo-oo!" and rides away. That's not a good enough ending for a character of Jesse. The character that just kept relapsing and relapsing over the course of the show.
@oHeihei5 жыл бұрын
ThePreciseClimber he had a somewhat open ending, and I think in the case of the series it worked. For the most part. He got his revenge on Todd, he made peace with Walt, and was on his way to do whatever he wanted. But there were still some questions and mostly concerns with the way Jessie left us in Breaking Bad. And to be honest, I was fine with that. But you’re right, that wasn’t good enough for this character. Just knowing what happens after, and if he really can get over the trauma he went through, and stay strong is knowledge I never knew I needed. But now I know, and it elevates the story and ending of Breaking Bad that much more, which is ridiculously impressive.
@SuzakuX5 жыл бұрын
@@oHeihei It was fine, but it was the only ambiguous ending in the show. Vince has told us how his story ends in interviews, but it's nice to see it commited to film IMO.
@oHeihei5 жыл бұрын
UpAndDown I understand where you’re coming from, but I do disagree completely. Whether you think this was a story worth being told is completely up to you. If you want Jessie’s story to end during Breaking Bad with him driving through a gate with his freedom and all the questions along with it, then sure, let that be your ending. But if you are curious how he handled his escape, and if he truly learned from his mistakes (though that specific answer was made obvious in the series) then have this movie be your ending. But I’m definitely going to have to disagree with you and I’m so happy we got to see this extension and conclusion of Jessie’s story.
