Good video. You did however forget to mention that for spillover, you need to power up the pedal while holding down the on footswitch and when both LED's are flashing, you release the footswitch. It's at this point you dial in the setting using the Tape Age knob. Cheers.

Thank you, really helpful tutorial! Did you ever make part 2?
@RichardDeHoveАй бұрын
I wanted to do the "degrading looper" thing as part 2 but I realized (too late) that it needed MIDI CC commands rather than just MIDI note number like the Timeline. I searched for a cheap way to get clocked MIDI CC commands but nothing. (Recently with V7 firmware the Midicake Arp gives that ability.)

Helpful video Just got this pedal. Love it already Should I firmware upgrade it first?

Latest firmware fixes a couple of small things. Might be worth checking: www.strymon.net/faq/el-capistan-v2-firmware-revision-release-notes/

Have one and not really a subject here but for me it also brings lots of mojo, not just stereo galore, but a circuitry thing that gives the sound an open character frequency wise. Many times played a tune through it and when turning it on gives the extra you hope for. The Spring even adds to that. Some fx you never sell like this one. If for example Mojo wise had to choose selling either the amazing Nightsky ( yup something completely different:) or my Cap, I'd choose the last for keeping, it's that great, especially for synth. Than again really curious about the Meraki..

The El Cap has to be one of the most-loved pedals out there. It certainly has loads of character.

Hi, Richard how would i be able to achieve triplets delay with the el capistan?
@RichardDeHove21 күн бұрын
Hmmm yes good question. The El Cap isn't noted for its time division flexability :/ I think you're down to using tap tempo or sending it a specific MIDI clock.

@@RichardDeHove thanks for your answer! how would i send it to a specific midi clock?
@RichardDeHove20 күн бұрын
@@TimothySamSchreuder Depending on how your setup works this could get messy, but the gist of it is that triplets are just a percentage of your base BPM. So you could use one of the many online BPM calculators to determine your required BPM for triplets then have a MIDI clock send that to the pedal. Probably easier would be to get a triplet-capable dedicated clock source like the Disaster Area: www.disasterareadesigns.com/shop/p/micro-clock-gen4 I haven't used this device but it does send triplet clocks - might be worth checking out.

Hi. Great video explaining midi! What was your Midi setup? Did you have Strymon’s Conduit midi box? Or just the Midi - trs cable going out from your midi device into the El Capistan? Thanks so much!
@RichardDeHove Жыл бұрын
No special Strymon gear, just a MIDI clock coming in on a 5-pin DIN cable then going through the 3.5mm cable to the 1/4-inch adaptor.

Hey, did you get your Perfourmer repaired ? If so, how did it go ?
@RichardDeHove Жыл бұрын
? It never malfunctioned, but I did sell it. It went part of the way to finance what I think (from watching videos) is one of the most beautiful synths ever made. With any luck it should ship in a couple of weeks....

Hey it was Charles Whiley, on the vermona group, had issues with his, I'm just curious regarding Vermona support, since there built like tanks 😉
@RichardDeHove Жыл бұрын
@@Kevvywevvy Beautifully made to last that's for sure. Vermona and Erica Synths are at the top of the tree for sturdiness imo. Can't comment on support, but I did email them direct before I bought and got a prompt and useful reply.

@@Kevvywevvy :D I'm honored! Wish I could have kept it but funds and studio space are both very tightly limited. Still have regrets over selling my Sub-37 too.
