I was honestly surprised when I found out this show wasn't popular in America. I honestly can't think of a single person here in Brazil who doesn't at least know what El Chavo is.

@@oreocreme450 Well all that I know is that the animated series was voiced in English Dub as well of course... Then the biggest surprise came, when I looked up the cast: Gringo Chavo is the same one whose voiced by English Dub of Doraemon, Ramon is voiced by FOCKING ZENIGATA FROM LUPINlll (I can't unsee a Hobo Zeni scolding an orphan Doraemon from being incapable of catching one crafty thief)... There never was an English Dub of Animated Chapolin, however the next biggest surprise is finding out that someone like Johnny Young Bosch voices him xD.

(Obvious hyperbole/exaggeration but) I felt like I was the only kid in America that was a huge fan of El Chavo (both Live Action and Animated). I found it on Netflix and watched like pretty much the whole series (though in Subtitles, my Spanish skills aren't that great) but I really loved the show

But actual Americans don't always know who say, Chapulín is, or fully care, to the extent he's disgracefully called "old man" in Fortnite (he may be short, but not old old, although Chappie is practically Immortal in the lore if one pays closer attention xD). Hell I occasionally do a couple references to what Chapulín can do, and they don't know jack xD.

Although I like the Animated version because of the relationship between Chavo and Paty (became my number one favorite couple), but I already learned everything why most people loved the Original live action version better than the Animated version when I watched it on Spanish Audio channel called "Galavision" from 2022 to 2024 despite that I normally speak English (I watched 52 English dubbed episodes on YT), not only because of Chilindrina's absence, but because despite having Paty became the main character as of season 3, the Animated version became one of very bad cartoons. I'll never see my beloved Mexican couple "Chavo X Paty" again, but my interests in them lives on.

I'm not Hispanic of any kind, I'm African American. But El Chavo used to be on Netflix, and I used to watch it ALL the time. I never understood a word they were saying bc I didn't know how to change the language, so I always used context clues. I'm really sad they took El Chavo off. At least I can watch it on KZbin, I guess. Oh yeah, btw I watched the animated version.

Hello, i speak Spanish but i also understand English... As most people speak English here, i suppose i should get along. Anyway i wanna Say that there are people who say that the animated version of El Chavo is a very bad series because it is not as faithful to the original material and also because Chilindrina does not appear. I must say that I grew up watching the animated series and I got used to watching it without Chilindrina. Of course, the original Chespirito series is second to none and is much more fun and memorable. It is true that El Chavo in the later seasons became somewhat boring and even unpleasant, but the truth is that I still enjoy it until now.

I believe I read somewhere that the actress who played Chilidrina fought with Chespirito for the Copyright of the character, since she considered Chilidrina to be hers truly. So when they first started development of the Cartoon she was gonna be in it, there's even some official art of her in the cartoons style But the actress simply said a big fat No because she truly believed the character was hers

I grew up on El Chavo! More specifically the live action. Even though i was little and had no grasp on spanish, i enjoyed the show because it just spoke to me. El Chapulin, too! My brother actually dressed up as him for halloween when we were little, and I Selena Quintanilla. I think its important to revists childhood gems like these, especially if its apart of your culture. This Review is actually great, I never found a review of this show but I don't think you're the first one, Imo El Chavo was okay, I do remember it as a kid but never watched the other shows done by Chespirito, but when I heard he died I didn't really feel sad or bad, idk why, El Chavo Animato is really, Really hard to look back at, as a kid I liked the animated one better than the live action one but now I prefer live action over animated, the animation isn't really good, some episodes got really weird, and I definitely agree the English dub is horrible, I don't like it in the slightest. My thoughts Video 7/10 El Chavo sitcom 6/10 El Chavo Animato 3/10

I actually watched the English dub as a kid! My family is Latin but I’ve lived in America my whole life, so it was my first exposure to the franchise. They showed it on an On Demand channel called Kabillion and it was cancelled a few episodes into the third season. In hindsight the dub wasn’t that great, definitely 4Kids-esque, but looking back, it’s kinda funny to see so many popular anime and video game voice actors in the cast, haha

Cómo mexicano esta serie fue muy popular en los niños de mi edad, pero al pasar los años y esos niños crecían vieron que está caricaturas era muy inferior a su versión original, aunque eso sí, está caricaturas es la más icónica de la comunidad latina (dato random y sin sentido esos niños al crecer tienen de waifu Catalina la catrina otra caricaturas mexicana y la waifu número 1 con mucho rule 34 XD)
