AMEN 🙏🙌 AND YES! YOU CAN'T "HONESTLY" OR WITH A STRAIGHT VOICE "ATTEMPT" TO DISCUSS OR PROCLAIM YOUR KNOWLEDGE OR LOVE💕😘 OF UNEQUIVOCAL, GRACEFUL, POWERFUL, STYLISH AND UNTOUCHABLE "VOCAL PROWESS" IN ANY GENRE OF MUSIC IN ANY MUSICAL GENERATION AND "NOT ACKNOWLEDGE" TO GOD-GIFTED ABILITIES OF WHITNEY HOUSTON OR "NIP" AND MR. MY BROTHER LUTHER VANDROSS DESPITE HIS "ISSUES". R&B IS ALMOST A BEAUTIFUL AND UNIQUELY INSPIRATIONAL GENRE OF MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT. BUT! THE VOICES AND THE PERFORMANCE QUALITY OF THE MEN AND THE WOMEN OF "THIS SPECIFIC GENRE OF THE MUSIC 🎵🎶 OF THIS SPECIFIC GENERATION OF PERFORMERS SHOULD NOT "EVER BE FORGOTTEN! WE WERE "ABUNDANTLY BLESSED" BY THE BEST THAT GOD HAD TO OFFER OUR WORLD "IN TALENT AND IN EXPRESSION" FOR GENERATIONS TO COME. AND AS USUAL. DESPITE OUR CHALLENGES AS A PEOPLE. THE "UNIQUE EXPRESSION" OF OUR "PERFORMING ARTS" IS SOMETHING THAT WE CAN ALWAYS BE PROUD TO SHARE IN OUR FAMILY TIMES AND CELEBRATIONS AND PASS ON TO LIVE ON "IN" OUR CHILDREN AND IN OUR GRANDCHILDREN.💕😘🎶🥰😍👑🎈🎉❤️

They were all good but how many feel Luther favored Johnny Gill’s vocals?
@marcosmith4764
@marcosmith4764 Жыл бұрын
Luther loved them all, respectively. Johnny just had more of a connection with Luther, as in he made it very known publicly that Luther was his mentor and inspiration, which is amazing that he got to actually have that relationship with his idol. Everyone knows how serious Luther Vandross and specific he is about vocals and actually doing a live performance, so Johnny just wanted to actually tribute Luther, one for the books. Johnny Gill is a very aggressive performer and that’s not a bad thing, it’s just that with someone who shares the stage with him.. that may be a bit passive or know how to work the stage like that will look lackluster. Johnny has the IT factor, the stuff you can’t teach. He knows what/how to do everything in any given moment, no matter what happens. Johnny was very much in charge of the boys, all those little inflections and ad libs he added.. and tbh.. 😂 I don’t think he actually stayed in position like they rehearsed. All of the guys song well though all jokes aside.
@reinajalana
@reinajalana 8 ай бұрын
@@marcosmith4764I also think they are more vocally alike than Debarge and Latimore. I could easily see Luther and Johnny singing each other's songs and it not being a huge difference. Annnnd... I'm not sure how much they thought about it, but Luther was known to be in the closet, and I and have others have long suspected Johnny to be as well. So, just seemed they both could relate on a lot of things! They even look alike!

IT'S BEEN "PROCLAIMED" BY VARIOUS PEOPLE, GENERATIONS AND RACES AND CULTURES AND ETHNICITIES.....FOR YEARS IN ALL GENRES OF MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT IN ADDITION TO WHAT MAKES THE WORLD GO ROUND "DAY TO DAY". I AGREE. BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE TO "DISCOUNT" ANYONE ELSE'S IMPACT AND UNIQUELY INSPIRATIONAL AND ACKNOWLEDGED PRESENCE "IN ANYTHING OR ANYWHERE FOR ANY REASON" BECAUSE I'M ME. I DON'T "EXACTLY" UNDERSTAND"EXACTLY" HOW IT GUSHES AND INFLUENCES AND INSPIRES AND EMPOWERS AND RESTORES AND SOOOOO MUCH MORE BUT THIS......! I DO UNDERSTAND. I WOULD "RENIG" AN OUNCE OF IT NO MORE THAN I WOULD SEEK "OWNING" THE CREDIT FOR THE INSPIRATION AND THE IMPACT THAT I AM BLESSED TO WITNESS IN "THE STRUGGLES AND THE VICTORIES"..... I'LL CONTINUE TO "TAP INTO IT". THAT BIOLOGICAL TREASURE 🧰 CHEST OF "INSPIRATIONAL VALIDATION, CONFIDENCE AND COMPETENCE" IN ANY GIVEN SITUATION OR CIRCUMSTANCES ON ANY GIVEN DAY. IT'S NOT "FOOL'S GOLD" IT'S "GOD'S WEALTHY PRESENCE IN THE PERSON AND THE CHARACTER "BY HIS SPIRIT" IN AND THROUGH HUMAN BEINGS 🙏❤️ WHO HAPPEN TO LOOK LIKE ME AND OTHERS. HUMANITY'S TRUE HARMONY IS IN IT'S "UNAPOLOGETICALLY CONSENTUAL UNITY".😳🎉🤣😍👑❤️🎶🧩💕🙂‍↕️🥳 NOW THAT! WE CAN CELEBRATE! 🥂🥳

Hey.👋 I personally LOVE Whitney Houston's or "NIPS" ABILITY TO BRING THE HOUSE DOWN BUT😳🤔! LET'S NIT GET DISRESPECTFUL OR TOO FREAKIN STARSTRUCK ✨ WITH YOUR ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS. I REFUSE TO COMPARE "TO DISPUTE" WITH YOU BECAUSE I PERSONALLY BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE "EITHER GRAVELY MISINFORMED IN ADDITION TO BEING GROTESQUELY INAPPRECIATIVE" OF THE OTHER ARTIST WHO WERE HOLDING IT DOWN BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER WHITNEY HOUSTON'S UNTIMELY DEMISE. LET'S NOT START VOCALIZING OUR ALLEGIANCE OR PREFERENCES FOR "OUR OTHER ARTISTS" BY DISMISSING OR DISCOUNTING OTHER "GREATS" IN THE PROCESS. YES. WHITNEY HOUSTON'S VOICE AND VOCAL PROWESS WAS "ONLY WHITNEY'S" BUT THE GENRE DIDN'T LURE HER "GOD GIVEN" TALENTS OUT OF CHURCH BECAUSE IT WAS WEAK, UNFORBODING AND HAVE NOT TO "INSPIRE" HER IN RETURN. MEANING. THERE WEREN'T MANY THAT COULD SHARE TO STAGE WITH WHITNEY HOUSTON IN AN HONORED VOCAL GROUP'S PRESENTATION "STRICTLY ON TALENT" BUT NOT "A WHOLE BUNCH OF THEM" DEPENDING ON THE "MUSICAL AND VOCAL ARRANGEMENTS". BUT! NO ONE? I APPRECIATE YOUR ENTHUSIASM BUT AND AGAIN "EITHER VERY, VERY, VERY DISRESPECTFUL AND MISINFORMED OR JUST ANOTHER ERRANT "RANT" FROM A PSYCHO-SOCIAL, MISINFORMED MUSICAL STUPER-STAN. YOU CAN ALWAYS APOLOGIZE LATER IN YOUR "GENERATIONAL, MUSICAL EDUCATION AND HISTORY".

If ever there was to be a "Luther" bio movie, Johnny Gill would be an excellent Luther! (I also forgot how fine he used be! Lol) We lost our top musical legends all in a decade, what I mostly miss about them all, (Luther, Whitney, Micheal, Prince,Aretha, Natilie C, ) is they were the last generation to sing about "love" the love song eras seem no more. Now I wanna re-see this whole show♡

Among all three make vocalist, Johnny was the only one that got Luther to his feet ,I believe he reminded Luther of his younger self. The others were phenomenal as well.

There will never be another Mr. Luther Vandross also Mrs. Whitney Houston (one of the standards for female singers). I love hearing Mr. Johnny Gil say," Take Your Time", when someone sings the late great Mr. Luther Vandross's song. These three mem are some of the best, Mr. Johnny Gil, Mr. Kenny Lattimore and El DeBarge- Is it just me, they need to do a tour together, peace.

Awesome!! Johnny Gill made Luther get out of his seat. El DeBarge & Kenny Latimore serenaded Luther. Whitney brought it full circle. There will never be another Luther Vandross with his amazing voice. So much talent on that stage. The love between Luther & Whitney priceless. RIP WHITNEY & LUTHER. GONE BUT NEVER EVER FORGOTTEN!!❤️❤️✝️✝️🌹🌹🕊️🕊️🕊️

This was awesome! Johnny Gill was right at home vocally. He was the one that carried this performance. He made Luther get up at one point and at another made him smile. He knew Johnny put the runs and the growls in all the right places.
