This resort was so amazing! Adults only and never felt crowded. I stayed in a ground floor unit by the swim up bar pool. Always felt safe. Resort is top notch, so clean, amazing staff and outstanding cuisine!! I highly recommend

No problem :) Quality of hotel & beach is obviously subjective, but this resort keeps up coming back. The grounds are beautiful, the staff is warm, kind, and #1 in my book. I'm sure if anything isn't to your liking they'll change it right away :D You're going to have a great time!!!!! I know the last week or two has had a tropical depression. This means they've had some rainy days. It didn't rain once while we were there, but was storming quite a bit last week. I'd expect your week in early July to be lovely :)

We are thinking of going to the palafitos. People have reviewed that there is not a lot of activities. Is there any dancing at night or yoga or fitness classes. Thank you for the great review!

This El Dorado resort doesn't have a huge number of daily activities. Pool Volleyball and beach volleyball, maybe the occasional pool fitness or yoga class, but it's not like those resorts full of activities and constant entertainment. The best thing to do in the palifitos is float off your unit (bring your own floaties, and maybe a way to anchor to your steps) and enjoy that amazing restaurant that is an upcharge to everyone else. What other all inclusives have you been to? We're on our way to Atelier, and spending a day at Isla Mujeres! The palifitos are amazing!!!

@@LeisureLuke thank you for replying so quickly! The palafitos look so beautiful...we might do a few days there...I love LeBlanc but I’ve heard it’s gone downhill the last few years sadly. We really liked Sun Palace. We loved Pineapple Beach Club in Antigua.

@@kristiny4727 That's a great plan to do a few days at the palifitos, and then a few days at El Dorado Maroma. LeBlanc has been on our list, as have the excellence resorts. I'm guessing the activities will seem limited at El Dorado Maroma, but the food and service is top notch. There's a pretty active El Dorado Maroma facebook group you should check them out. They're a little nuts, but very informative :D

You are going to love it!!!! Honestly, not that easy. I think it’s about 45 minutes from the hotel zone, and I don’t remember Cancun city being an excursion destination. That may be a taxi-only thing and would be a long ride each way ($40 each way is my guess based on airport transfer costs). I’d maybe switch to a Cancun hotel-zone located hotel for a few nights if visiting the city is important to you. Are you actually wanted to see the city, or just the Cancun hotels? Coco bongo?! :)

Any updates on how it is now? Covid rules? What is the royal rooms?

It’s been a long time. Most don’t have Covid rules anymore, the only rules would be if you became obviously sick they may ask you to stay in your room. I’m sure they have option tests on site, but I haven’t seen masks required for about 2 years for guests. It’s still a place we plan to return to! Only downside is that the beaches are more seaweedy than before. There’s a Facebook group for every hotel, find them and join them, people post pictures from the resorts almost daily!

Yeah, it’s safe. This place has a kid pool, but I thought it was adults only, so I’d double check. Maybe they have you stay in a different building with kids.

Yes, The main pool and the pool at bar24 are for all guests. There are private pools for presidential suites and the palifitos each have their own little outdoor pool (I think).

@@Sumermak It's usually quieter, yes. The main pool is bigger, sunnier, has in-pool loungers, and a pool volleyball net (which is pretty fun). Bar24's pool is smaller, shadier, but the bar is open all night!

At the place next door, yes. The resort doesn’t have any, but there are jetski and jetski/snorkel tours leaving from Maroma Adventuras. We had it booked, but it was cancelled due to weather. 1 hr for 2 people was something like $160 for lunch jetski or $220 for 2 jetski. So we were planning to get 2!

Yes, the breakfast and lunch menu prices are listed in pesos. The Peso to USD conversion is like 20:1 (might me 19:1 or 21:1). There is no entry cost for those meals, dinner was $60 per person and anything on the dinner menu was included for that price. I've heard other people in travel groups say the cost is usually $70 per person. If you're staying at palafitos, it's all included an no additional cost. Planning your trip? YOU'RE GOING TO LOVE IT!!!!!

At the moment I'm a Product Planning Engineer, which is like a project manager for engineering products. I studied Aerospace Engineering, worked an aerospace engineer and controls engineer. Now my job is more corporate and I my hands stay out of the code. Why do you ask?

I think work-life balance is driven partly by the individual, partly by the manager of your job, and only a little by your career. Engineering is less stressful than you’d think, and because there’s a shortage of engineers, companies are doing big things to retain the good ones - including protecting work-life balance. I SO ENCOURAGE you to pursue a STEM Career. I’m certain you won’t regret it!

i hate the seaweed. the best beach in playa is at another resort . i forgot the name but its a 3 star, bad place but beaches are amazing

Find the name! Yeah, the seaweed is constant, but you get that at lots of beaches in riviera maya / tulum area. It’s a little better in the Cancun hotel zone.
