El Estepario Siberiano has now taken my number 1 spot for KZbin drummers. Aric Improta was number 1 and in some regards, there's stuff Aric does that I've never heard other drummers do (except Danny Carey, Portnoy, Peart RIP) but this new age of KZbin drummers is doing amazing things. Even Corey Ash (i love his SJC kit and his hip-hop covers) each KZbin drummer is each doing their own thing and sound amazing.

Hard to call anyone the best at an instrument, it’s so subjective. He’d be the first to say Eloy Casagrande is the best player from his country, but there’s no definitive way to say who’s better. The only way you could really ever judge musicians on merit is by their body of work, legendary albums they’ve played on or artists they’ve played with, that becomes the players legacy. That is what El Estepario is missing to me. I know he makes big money online, but I’d love to see this guy play with a legendary artist and cut an influential album that everyone idolizes. He needs that!

@@AJK.630 I've seen a LOT of "GREAT drummers" Starting from Golden Earring, Grateful Dead, Santana, Iron Maiden, Van Halen, Z-Z Topp just to name a few. I agree, him playing with some legendary musicians and an album or two... yeah, buddy, he'd SMOKE IT!! It would truly be a treat to us ALL!!

​@AJK.630 I don't understand what the fuss is about with this guy. There way more talented drummers out there. He plays along to songs and has decent fills, but I don't understand it. I never liked his lame one handed playing videos, and stick flipping. Every decent drummer can play one handed to level he does, he just fills the beat with the same double kick rhythm.

​@AJK.630 Eloy and Estepario are NOT from the same country, but I concur that there is not such a thing as "The best drummer". Everyone is unique in their own way, and especially if we talk about different styles of music. How are you going to compare, for example, Estepario with Joe Morello? It's ridiculous to compare them. They are (were, in the case of Morello) excellent in their own style of music and style of playing.

I reckon that now begins the search for a band or a style of music for which his mode of playing is of some use. It's similar to that guy, Yoni Madar: jaw-dropping technical skills, but then, what do you do with them? The hyper-technical, KZbin drummers are more analogous to Olympic athletes than to musicians. I watch them for 30 seconds and just go, WOW! 😮 What dedication! What skill! I shake my head in admiration for what they have achieved. Then I go and listen to some music...

IMHO- strong groove at the start, and then the ghosts weren’t adding energy, but sounded busy. Not sure about some of those choices- some of the fills just sound super-busy and messy to me. And the attack of his stroke is sometimes un-called for. Sorry- it could also be the miking of the kit.
