There are a few different versions of the prayer with slightly different language in each one. However this version of the Prayer was specifically composed for the holocaust, so it’s not exactly the same as done at a standard funeral.

I'm aware your comment was written 10 years ago but after what I read I must say you're deeply misinformed and ignorant. First of all the number of Germans (Nazis) during world war 2 who were responsible for the Holocaust is in the millions so I wouldn't call that a "small number of people" secondly who are you or we to forgive what the Nazis did to our people we have no right to forgive the Nazis for something that wasn't done to us. And lastly the flag represents the Jewish people who will never cease to exist despite all the trials and tribulation and persecution we have faced in the past and continue to face until this day .so to say we shouldn't use the flag is just absurd.

the people standing behind the cantor are holocaust survivors? what exactly do you think "they don't know"? do you have any idea how traumatizing it must be for survivors to return there? my father z"l survived 4 years in 3 concentration camps including auschwitz and he couldnt, wouldnt even consider returning to Poland to retrieve the valuables his parents buried in their backyard so the nazi's wouldnt get them...even until the day he died in 2009, he refused to even contemplate returning to the nightmares of his youth regardless of how valuable those items were, so they lay buried somewhere in Krakow...he was 13 when he was sent to the concentration camp and 17 when liberated and lost his parents, 6 yr old sister, grandparents and extended family members, only 3 including my dad survived, him and 2 cousins...THINK before you post such nonsense...
