Killer Mike had mentioned to Someone at adult swim that he wished producers still made songs like old school bomb squad or ice cube jams (meaning aggressive wall of sound type productions.) the adult swim dude then mentioned El p, KM did his research, linked up with El p to produce a track or two on his next album but El p ended up producing the whole thing. They did this track during that time then soon after, RTJ was born. Check out Talib kweli's podcast on here, he did a pretty extensive interview with El p covering the start of his career to now. It's dope.
