Is outsourcing slavery and backing it up by military force making it NOT the cornerstone of our economic system?
@gmodrules1234567894 жыл бұрын
@@ScavengerKing As far as Africa is concerned, our influence is not what caused the problems. 200 years of British colonialism, followed by disastrous post-colonial borders, followed by a continued dependency on the commonwealth, as well as massive French interference in the former northern colonies. The next big player in Africa is probably China, who will continue the same game. As far as the US is concerned, our influence in Africa pales in comparison to France and Britain. America's stomping ground is Latin America, and while not great, it's much much better than the slave-like labor you find in the Congo. The US economy isn't even reliant on Congo slavery. Our primary economic base is Energy export (Oil and Gas extraction, done here), Media (Tech, Film and TV, all American companies), and Agriculture (all done in the country). The blood diamond cartels are not a huge part of the economy. If they were all declared illegal tomorrow, the economy would be fine.

+Daniel Loeb Look, I totally get the beauty of the ideals that Bernie Sanders is sharing, and it's incredible to see the acceptance of those ideals, and to even see how strongly it moves people. But voting in government elections is consenting to a rigged game, where the average citizens have no chance of actually winning. It's a fact of life, and it's the (extremely unfortunate) natural progression of all governments... Notice the use of the word "revolution". Yeah, it's a revolution alright-it's a circular movement, that goes 'round and 'round.

The reality is systemic racism preventing blacks and minorities from having access to loans, their GI bills, red lining and person to perosn racism is the reason blacks are in gangs. If you strip people of legal means of a massing wealth, peoviding meaningful work or status within a society, they find their own ways to do that. Even now rap does not create the realities of gangs and violence. Those have been constants long before rap came around. Rap tells the story, and some it is glorified. But a lot of is a warning.

@fasdasdff54775 жыл бұрын
John Peric Yeah, you are totally fuckin wrong. Blacks were being red lined into ghettos by racist banks and city planners, there was a systematic campaign to keep blacks snd nvm other ninorities out of white communities. The development of white houseing covenants to keep blacks out of new housing tracts, the banks wouldnt let blacks take loans to build or repsir their homrs even in the redline district which is what white were being offered to build ewuity and wealth in their families. This institutionalized racism went all the way to the top with state supreme courts ruling that white only housing covenants were legal. Even Blsck WW2 veterans werent being allowed access to home loans , god damn war heroes of the ww2 were being denied housing loans because they were black. This even extended to people who were trying to build their own housing tracts, they'd have their own land and pernits ready to build their own communities but they coulsnt. It is this systematic and intentional with holdings plus segregation that can be sttributed to the economic situation of blacks snd minorities. they were intentional held down, intentional kept from having housing, educstion, meaningful labors and excluded fromall the ways in whicb people build wealth, capital and equity. This is what led to the formation of ghettos and gangs, this is why people of color are trapped. because 100 years after slavery blacks and minoritites still do not have equal access to resources, education and jobs. gangs formed as a way to find a create economic opportunities in communities that were robbed of them. So fuck off with your sycophantic white-washed view of your countries relationship with black and other minority groups. White people and racism have ALWAYS been at the core of the destruction of minority groups. and i will continue to handle well documented history over to you internet arm chair scholars. stop spreading lies and go ask ur white grandad what he thought of blacks or if it would have been ok of a wealth black fsmily moved next door.

DISCLAIMER - THIS IS ONLY AN OPINION The difference i feel is the beat, "Reagan" is not the usual mainstream sound which is kinda obvious because it was produced by EL-P(who in my opinion, is the king of weird, sci-fi and experimental alternative hip hop beats), this in particular is has a mean, dark and evil vibe. "This is America" is more of a fusion alternating between african folk and trap music, the folk introduction had a happy vibe and the transition into the trap was sudden and ment to be shocking. The only reason why i feel "This is America" is below "Reagan" in terms of the actual beat is because of the trap bit. Critics say it was menacing, i say it is just a bland excuse to cash on that mainstream appeal of trap 808s and adlibs, contributed by blocboy jb, Slxm Jxmmy of rae sremmurd, young thug, and quavo(if i remember correctly), this makes even more mainstream.

@JohnDoe-zu2tz8 жыл бұрын
Silent Echos Without the state their would be no capitalism, for who would protect property rights? Also, who do you think pushed for the creation of pro-business intervention? If capitalist are profit seeking, wouldn't they ALWAYS push for a government they can use to extract more profit? Who creates the extra value in a product? The workers. Who collects the profits made by that extra value? The capitalists. Does that make sense? Not to mention that monopolies will form on their own and that capitalism results in overproduction crises.
@JohnDoe-zu2tz8 жыл бұрын
Silent Echos A powerful enough business can out-produce and outcompete smaller start-ups. Not to mention buy outs, as well as the limitations to entry that naturally form. If a steel monopoly formed, what would you do? It does matter, because it expresses who is in power and who will do this on their own. The state is not the final authority, the capitalists are. They bribe politicians, push for wars and deregulation, they pick regulations they like, all in the name of the divine profit motive. The politicians simple want to be re-elected and satisfy their constituents. And the capitalists want to have the scales tipped. That is true, but we've never had a "free market" as you think. When capitalism was born, it was from feudal manors and public commons being divided up for capitalists to buy. Many of capitalism's "innovations" come from the public sector. Yes, I am. Capitalism is a system where capital goods/means of production are owned by private interests. Because of this, the owners of the capital can claim any and all profits made by it and the workers they hire. Workers have to work for these capitalists because there isn't another option. Well, starvation, but that isn't really a choice, is it? The extra value created by workers goes to capitalist, and there it accumulates or goes into expansion. There we find the two problems of capitalism: falling demand and infinite expansion. This results in imperialism, depressions, massive debt, pollution, corruption, and the alienation of workers. In my view, it is a system that has outlived its usefulness. We need a new system.
@JohnDoe-zu2tz8 жыл бұрын
Silent Echos So, are you saying that the people who are elected should be immune to corruption? Who adds utility to iron and coal to make it steel? The workers. Also, almost EVERY company uses wage labour and private ownership, so picking who you work for or who you buy from is like picking who your master will be. You might get a better own, but he will be bought out, and you are still under someone undemocratic control. That is what governments are. Organizations that make contracts that are backed by military power. They are very useful, but if mismatched with the wrong economy or technology, they get ugly. I agree with you. Capitalism has been the best system of production we have implemented on a global scale. The problem is that just like slavery and feudalism started to fail, capitalism is in its death throws, and it will get more violent and oppressive as time goes on. The democratic ownership of the means of production through a nationally elected parliament and local firm-to-firm organizations.
