Nice. This looks like a good Fall El Presidente riff, and El Presidentes are my favorite rum drink, so I'm definitely gonna pick up some aged rum and sherry next time I restock.

Please report back once you tried it. I would love to know your thoughts on it. Cheers!

I did a side by side comparison today of the your El Presidente recipe against your Coup dӃtat. I had all the components including the Cuban Rums. On paper the drinks are similar but in taste they are completely different. The Blanc Vermouth and Fino Sherry take centre stage to the Rum pairings, (which I liked, the Rum pairings I mean). Yes I will have them again. Great drinks, great video. Cheers.

I made both versions of this Cuban Cocktail and are delicious, Although, I couldn't get Cuban Rums, Tried with Rums from Costa Rica my country and they taste really good, Ron Centenario 7 años y Ron Centenario Blanco, the same way you have teaching us, Thanks to your channel Jean Felix

Great Video, will definitely try the drinks. I believe Veritas Rum is called „Probitas“ in the U.S.

I bought it as Probitas in Europe.

The name difference is due to IP problems in some countries but yes, it's the same rum.

Love the El Presidente!

How do you make it?
@BetterAvecBourbon3 ай бұрын
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks I like it 2oz French Plantation Rhum, 1 oz dolin vermouth, and 0.5oz curaçao / grand marnier (depending on what I have on hand), and a bar spoon of grenadine.

Literally my favorite cocktail. You should try it with C. Comotz vermouth, apperantly that was the vermouth called for originally, and it makes a great el presidente. I make these all the time if anyone is curious: kzbin.info/aero/PLGpFjZpv5tbLV_Q9tMbOBuOxNCSu-MUbg putting agricole in sounds fun, but Coup de tat sounds great!

Damn! You ain't joking! That's some passion for the El Presidente you got there :) I didn't have the chance to find Comoz here in San Sebastian. You who tried it, since it's produced by Dolin, how similar they are?

Where did you find the glassware for the Coup D’Etat? That’s a stunning coupe
@TrufflesOnTheRocks2 ай бұрын
Ah! This is a beautiful antique find so I don't know what brand it is.
@miksologia2 ай бұрын
I will absolutely make the Coup d'État but I'll be using Appleton Estate Nassau Valley Casks 21 Year and Worthy Park Special Casks Series Calvados 10 Years as, after all, this is BETTER than a presidential cocktail.
@TrufflesOnTheRocks2 ай бұрын
Well that sounds like a top shelf cocktail! I'd love to share one ;)

OMG, from where did you get the Coup d‘etat glass? It’s absolutely beautiful

HAHA! Thank you! Unfortunately it's an antique find so I don't know really where it comes from.

It would make more sense to call it a Golpe de Estado... but you're French, so I suppose you changed the official language when you conquered this drink. Both versions sounds quite nice.
