Something important that I'd like to add: Highlander can cancel his offensive stance entrance mid animation. This not only allows Highlander to be ready to counter interrupts, but also makes him effectively immune to the light-heavy mixup. Before the rework, if Highlander wanted high damage from a light parry, the player would have to hold down the heavy button to parry to get an offensive heavy. This can still be done after the rework, but now that Highlander can enter offensive stance from neutral much faster, Highlander can now attempt to parry a light attack by entering offensive stance, and if it's a heavy, he can cancel the offensive stance animation and block or maybe even parry the heavy, making entering offensive stance both easier and safer.

If you cancel the entering OS animation HL doesn't say "dunmaglas". So it is absolutely easy to tell for your opponent whether you go into OS or not. As soon as your opponent hears "dun..." he can throw a light and HL will not be able to cancel in time to parry it. HL could dodge attack though which would be highly risky. So my.point is your "bait" might work on inexperienced players.

You didn't understand what he said. You go for a light parry hold heavy and then cancel if it turned to be a heavy and not a light. This is for people who can't differ and fall for light/heavy mixup

Where the phreak is triple soft feint? Dodge forward heavy > offensive stance > offensive heavy > soft feint into kick > soft feint into grab

I've discovered the 2nd zone into caber toss, I love doing it too. Sometimes I'll initiate a fight by doing that at a distance, where they'll wait to approach, and suddenly I leap into their face with the huge forward distance.

Btw at a distance you can move to the side and hold light causing you to stay still and not throw your light at your opponent that's another option also another thing you can do is feint out of your offensive stance early causing you to fake your stance and parry the light. Hope this helps

One thing that works too often for me when playing Highlander is forward heavy feint to fast flow OS to forward Caber Toss. The sword is already behind HL’s head and if you dodge the moment you enter OS the sword doesn’t do that red glow thing.

what I like to do is go into offensive, and since you can cancel it with a dodge, i do a forward dodge into caber. it lands 99% of the time and comes out quite quickly

Great game knowledge tbh, i usually jus try abusing frame+ w him wheter its going into stance to bait a parry or just throwing top heavys cuz it seems to be quicker than the sides

If your enemy is super passive you might consider letting the whole zone go, since if the last hit connects you can fast flow into offensive like you would from a neutral heavy. Plus its 12 chip damage ig

Imagine if warden could soft feint his unblockable heavy into a lvl 3 bash, (instant lvl 3 no charging). now imagine if he could soft feint that same lvl 3 bash into a command grab which confirms a heavy. imagine if pk could do the same thing but with bleed stacks on top of all . Imagine if hitokiri could soft feint her charged heavy into a kick and soft feint that into a grab which also confirms a heavy . Imagine if shugoki could feint a heavy into a headbutt ,get heavy from the headbut and soft feint headbutt into a hug. Sounds fucking OP right? Thats hl's ENTIRE kit , unblockable Heavy into kick into caber toss and evey single one of them is heavy level 3 hitstun AFTER the confirmed 30 dmg unblockable heavy hits . hit it even as low as 2 out of 6 times, its 60 dmg, just sayin

I played the beta and consistently until Shadow and Might and Centurion was so busted I quit the game for years. Came back intermittently over the years but it never reclicked for me until 2 weeks ago. The game is so different to what I remember and I still fucking hate Highlander.
