My mother who is a fluent Spanish speaker would say, "Guarda tu dinero para cuando la vaca esté delgada". The literal translation is, "Save your money for when the cow is thin." Meaning save your money for when finances are low you'll have funds when money is tight.

Hi Agustin, It's been a year since I started watching your video's. I just wanted to thank you because watching you makes saving and investing really fun. All of the people around me are broke af and here in the Philippines we have the so called Crab Mentality that means no one should go up and if one moves up, the left behinds will pull you down. So I have no one to talk to and watching you makes me feel not alone in my journey of investing.. 🙂

Good luck! I've been at it for 2 years. It's a lot more complicated, you have to pay more for taxes and insurance, and everything is on you which is stressful. But there is no better feeling having control over your time and making it on your own. It's so crazy when you think, "I'm making it on my own!"
@gabrielafonseca403417 күн бұрын
@@ElAgustin well said! Being frugal was one of the things that really helped pulling this off. I do find myself working more hours on more days, but I'm never exhausted or stressed out as I used to be. I am now an editor of manuscripts and a coach for authors, and feeling I am helping people make their books reach their full potential and get published is very rewarding. To be honest, I didn't plan this. I reached a breaking point at work and quit, started living on my savings and, out of nowhere, projects started raining on me.

Very well done! But now you are getting to the same place as similar KZbinrs... Once KZbin gives a certain amount of income as your subscriptions grow and ads make more money, your voice becomes less meaningful because it can start to look like a preachy high earner and the earlier magic goes. Gabe Bult is a very good example of how it ends up. It just does't seem authentic or relevant past a certain point, but all about sponsorships and making money, I'm not saying you're bad for doing that - far from it - but your message will start to seem less real unless it is simply lessons on how to make money from KZbin.

I think KZbin is going to be around for a while, but eventually will fade out. It's the never ending evolution of media, nowadays nobody watches cable or listens to radio. I would probably get involved in something marketing related or media related. Hopefully I have a few years left doing this, but with any job, nothing is guaranteed and the world is constantly changing. Most jobs that people in my generation are doing were jobs that didn't exist when we did our "career surveys" in middle school! It's what makes life exciting and unpredictable!
