I stopped to spend thousands on vacation. We just rent a small apartment for a few nights and drive to the destination by car. Total of 1.000 Euro per vacation for 3 people is my new budget. 600 Euro for the room and 200 Euro for fuel means 200 Euro for fun like museum tickets and loads of icecream.

The good news is you got to spend time with your mom and dad and that is priceless. It’s also good you got away from mold and are safe. It smells a lot worse than dirty underwear. Congratulations on your new apartment.

Saving $10K made it easier to bring my savings to $40K as of next month. It''s not only insurance, it will pay off the balance I owe on the house. Now I can say just because I can, doesn't mean I should, at least not now. I never use credit or debit cards when I go out. My checking account has a comma at the end of the month and my wife is a lot happier.

I’ve got $100k to invest. I want to build a nest egg for when I'm older. I want to know if it's a good idea to add all my savings into a long term ETF, set and forget Come back in 20-30 years, instead of 250-300 DCA every month. Which ETF would you recommend?

Buying a stock is easy, but buying the right stock without a time-tested strategy is incredibly hard. that's why seeking expert advice is essential.

Yeah, brokerage AdvisoRs could make a lot of difference. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of investors raking in 6 to 7 digits in a space of months. So, I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look. I have been using an FA since 2020, and the least I returned was $140k ROI, and this does not include capital gain.

Thanks Austin Williams! 1) For savings fulfillment. I will apply this by saving at least $ 8 per day 2) More time to reap the benefits. Withholding my urge to spend my money to focus on establishing myself in the country I want to reside in. 3) It builds stronger foundations and less financial stress. By doing this, I will learn greater skills and knowledge. 4) Money saved will more time to compound. Saving as a habit will be as important as brushing my teeth. 5)Establishes good money habits. Earning a dollar is hard. Knowing to prioritize my future and needs will be an essential skill I must learn. 6) I will respect the money more. Money in deeper sense has spiritual value. 7) Live in deep sense of gratitude. Gratitude is a great feeling as sense of accomplishment or achievement. I will do my best to apply what I have learned today!

Here's how different my wife and I are: I refinanced my truck to lower my interest rate and shorten my loan by 6 months. My payment went up, and I still paid as much extra principal as possible. I paid it off 4 months early on the new, shorter loan, or 10 months earlier than what the original loan was. I freed up almost $700 per month. I was feeling good. Free of that burden. Proud to have it paid off. Then when I told my wife I finally paid it off, she immediately asked me if I was going to trade it in for a new truck. NO!!!!! I was horrified that that's how she thinks. 😡

If we know that 80k was 60% of salary, it means that the salary was about 133k. The amount left on spending was around 53k. Is it an extremely frugal way of living in the US? Genuine question from a foreigner

Much of what you say here is helpful and useful. However, Im not sure about how your are framing this. This was not a home you owned which has become unliveable and unsellable, ie losing life savings. Im not referring to your landlord but people living in their own homes.

Hey mate, I wanted to share a thought about your take on extreme frugality. While being mindful of spending is great, pushing extreme frugality can backfire on the very economy you rely on for your content to thrive. When people stop spending, businesses struggle, jobs are lost, and innovation slows, which ultimately affects everyone's ability to support creators like you. Encouraging balanced spending not only keeps the economy healthy but also ensures people have the resources to enjoy things like your videos. Frugality has its place, but if everyone took it to the extreme, platforms like KZbin-and the creators on it-would struggle to exist. Something to think about!

I live in Russia but I love spending and shopping everyday when I'm not working. Can you do a video where you show how to shop frugally for healthy meals (like paleo, or a standard healthy diet, etc.)? I eat extremely clean and most things here have gone up in the past few years. Before the past few years, I was able to eat high quality in the city for cheap. Now it's expensive. I'm thinking of moving to the countryside soon for cheaper farm meats from neighbors but my job requires me to be in the big city.

Frugality is fun! Delayed gratification on carefully thought-out purchases cannot be beat! Heck, walking past junk others find essential and that you exist joyfully without being mad, heady stuff! Life is just there to be enjoyed as best we can and contentment is 1 of the best things there is to enjoy it with!

I don't really blame people who panic. Lack of information can be a big hurdle. I've been making more than $200k passively by just investing through an advisor, and I don't have to do much work. Inflation or no inflation, my finances remain secure. So I really don't blame people who panic.

It’s all an opportunity cost, right? I can spent $2,000 on a nice vacation today or invest it and reap the benefits later. Taking an extreme approach to saving is not for me, but I understand the value in it. I still save with each paycheck, it’s just on a smaller percentage. Regardless, you should be proud of the sacrifices you’ve made to reach financial freedom.
