Wow, what an amazing interview - from the questions asked, to the content of the discussion, to the tone and respect between the interviewer and the interviewee (is that a word?), this KZbin posting helps to give Religion better relevance in today's "modern" world. Elaine Pagels has paid her dues and done her homework - she has an important life message to share.

What an absolutely amazing women. I just finished reading this book and am now starting the Gnostic Gospels. I have been a devout Christian, born again for many years now but this has me asking many questions and exploring many avenues main stream Christians would call heretical. Thank you Elaine for bringing these topics to light.

Sounds like you're on the Path to Wakening! (2) Jesus said, "Let him who seeks continue seeking until he finds. When he finds, he will become troubled. When he becomes troubled, he will be astonished, and he will rule over the All."

Social science will teach anyone that all humans need to associate and socialize to feel part of a collective, hence the reason for different religions, cultures and diversity in the world.

I often encounter religious Podcasts of absolute nonsense with hundreds of thousands of viewers and then I run into an intelligent, reality based, rational Podcast with only a few viewers, it explains a few things about where our country is...😢

Allowing religion to be on equal footing of anything scientific because it is portrayed as the most gracious host to the human being is false, proved by reading the text from which it is professed.
