This was useful. Do you have tips for elastic application on other parts of the swimsuit (aside from straps) that require tension?
@chrisy.87893 жыл бұрын
I’m soooo looking forward to your tension video. This has been my biggest issue when learning how to use my serger. Tension looks great up until I add elastic :( Thanks again for the sewing tips!

Great work on creating a very informative video. Loved that you shared that not all elastic feet fit any machine. Yes, most accessory feet are engineered for the specific models of sewing machines. Keep up the great work. We keep learning, being inspired by you. :)

Could you recommend another elastic foot? The one linked is now unavailable! Specifically, do you have any recommendations for one that fits a regular sewing machine? I bought the Avery top pattern and I’m looking forward to making my first swimsuit!

I looked high and low and can not find one with this adjustable roller tension thing they are all just slide tension. It is the mystery. I did see one for Juki.

Do you have a cover stitch machine as well or do you just use a twin needle on the regular sewing machine

Very helpful. Thank You! However, how does the elastic work if there is no tension on it to hold the fabric snugged to your body?? Thank you
@Just-a-girl8 ай бұрын
For swim wear it should stretch with the insertion of the body..

Hi! Can you post a video regarding how to take in a swimsuit which is too large? I bought two bathing suits which are too big for me and I would love to learn the basics of where to cut and re-sew in order to fit it to my body so I can wear them again! Thank you :)

What brands of elasticator feet have the features you showed or talked about? I am looking on Amazon and the feet I see do NOT have the features you were talking about, as far as I can tell.

Thank you for such a detailed video! Question, is there a difference between an elastic foot and an elastic gathering foot? Or are they different names for the same thing?

Same thing! I just don’t use the gathering function, I use it more like a guide

I don't have an elastic foot but am finding my serger leaves the elastic and fabric stretched out once sewn. I've tried altering the presser foot pressure and tension but it's still stretching the elastic. Do you think an elastic foot would solved this problem?

If you go to my elastic playlist, go to part 3 in the elastic series and I show you show to counteract this problem! An elastic foot might help too

My elastic foot doesn't have the size quage. So it definitely moves and makes it a bit harder. My serger is old and luckily a store found a foot haha. I have white superlock serger. But my elastic won't stay put.

I do not like to shop at esty. It is a bait and switch site. "sold by the yard $4.99" ..."$4.99 1/4 yard". Everything is over priced there.
