would just like to say how much Elastica rocked my adolescence! Almost thirty years later, I still know every tone and lyric of their songs and still play them regularly! From an old Belgian fan :)

@@Spidermansthirdcousin she was mean and critical towards him esp about The Great Escape but I wasn’t there so how could I or any of us know any more……then she becomes the posh heroin addict for 5 years or so, as well as the whole band, but Justin less so maybe I don’t know, but what a pitiful state of affairs :/ …Erm……I will always love both bands’ music.

@@lesleyh88 she was definitely an addict but as was damon each on their own really. I thibk what bugs me the most about him was how he was insistent on having an open relationship because his affairs with girl fans. Justine was in agreement but she never rly pursued anyone outside of Damon. Also the fact that he couldnt be grown up with brett anderson because he was an ex of justine.

Fantastic, thanks for the upload! I wonder if Donna and Annie refused to appear in the documentary, they might not remember Elastica as fondly as the Justin(e)s Also, I wonder if Justine still owns her black Telecaster or if she still plays music at all or just paints nowadays

I was just an American kid who loved Hackers and its soundtrack, never gotten into any European bands before, but I followed the connection to Elastica's album and found a new favorite. Punk ended up being my favorite genre, and I'm glad they broadened my view going into it. I wish we got more from them.

One thing I did take issue with is when they talked about grunge imitators they showed clips of screaming trees and Tad who were respected bands in the scene.

I know back in 1995. When they played in the Opera House in Toronto. It was a small venue. And you know they sound better. It was one of those days. They nailed it hard. Justine's voice was incredible.

@Answersonapostcard
@Answersonapostcard Жыл бұрын
@@jonas7252 in the UK when someone says America they usually mean the United States of America. People with some geography knowledge understand that The Americas is of course, all americas, but few people refer to these countries as that. It is more common to say "latin america", "South America", "Central America" and so on. It is more about being understood than being technically correct 100% of the time. If I started correcting people on this then some might think I'm just being pedantic.
@jonas7252
@jonas7252 Жыл бұрын
@@Answersonapostcard I got you, but we are the new generation and we know it's wrong. We've got dignity and in the same way they call us just latin-americans, well, they are anglo-americans. latin americans and anglo americans, both groups, Americans. It's not our fault that they wrote the name of their country wrongly. It's insane to think that only that small part of the whole continent is considered America by you. They are the United States of Angloamerica to us.
@Answersonapostcard
@Answersonapostcard Жыл бұрын
@@jonas7252 It doesn't really matter to us. Most people know the differences. It's just a way of speaking. When we speak of America, we're not talking about the continent, we're talking about the USA. It's just the way it is and no-one really makes a big issue about it. It's pedantic to stress about these minor details. It doesn't affect you in any way. I think latin American countries have far greater problems than people in other countries referring to the USA as 'America'. Here in the UK we ask "how many sugars" which is also incorrect, but no one really cares. Its just part of how people communicate.
