With the ball moving that slow in the infield, even if it were going foul for sure. Why not just pick it up and get the out at first rather than waiting to see if it goes foul?

They decide to let it roll if the runner were to clearly be safe if they picked it up and threw it, so they have nothing to lose if they let it roll

Have you played baseball past Jr High? There was zero play to be made. It’s not little league or jr and some lazy kid or a fat kid that can’t run. Even the slowest major league ball player runs that out if he hustles out of the box and down the line

Nah, there was 0 play there. Even if they feild it perfectly, the runner got too much of a head start and placed it too well. The only way he was not gonna be safe is if it rolled foul
