When I was a child, my father organized an orchestra in our home town, and they practiced at our home on Thursday nights. I was upstairs, heading off to sleep. This was one of the pieces they played. This music is engraved in my memory. Thank you for sharing!

scottpardee6303, you must have had a huge house, because a reasonable minimum number of orchestra players on this piece is substantial. Few people can have orchestras fit into their houses. Perhaps your father's group was a smaller ensemble and was playing a stripped down arrangement?

I played this as a 15 year old in a military band arrangement as the solo clarinet an experience I will never forget.
