Growing up in Zim, I was 17 when I started looking for a 'different' type of music during the 80s. Then I found classical music! I would listen in my room alone on my small radio, and would respond to the tunes crazily, often standing on my study desk or chair pretending to be a great conductor swinging my arms alternating between energetic swings of vigour and sudden stops and soft movements. My books under my feet, all forgotten. I became an adult, I and had 4 daughters who fortunately took up ballet classes at school. And so classical music lived on for me through them. Mozart has to be my very favourite. I love classical music!

I’m kinda not too crazy invested in classical music, but when I hear it I appreciate the hell out of it. I think it’s crazy that something like this was written in 1787. Music nowadays isn’t necessarily easy to make by any stretch of the imagination, but I can only imagine the vast amount of difficulties that came with writing music in the 18th century as compared to the 21st. Mozart was a friggin genius man. I gotta listen to more of his music and to more classical music in general.

If you ever get this reply : Beethoven's 9th (best rendition IMHO is the 2017 proms one, but anything by Jarvi is ideal) and the 7'th, 6'th, 5'th, and 3'rd The Four Seasons. You MUST watch this one at least once, Alana Youseffian is in the green dress and she has utter mastery of this music. (kzbin.info/www/bejne/l6PcdYB3hZuiq8k) Here's a curveball! I guarantee 100% you never knew that a single person and a harp could make these sounds and this music. If you watch nothing else, watch this. (and the 9'th, actually watch them all!) (kzbin.info/www/bejne/lanRZKh3fb97mcU) The Nutcracker - best rendition on youtube is the Mariinsky theatre - is not only amazing music (and cool real people dancing) but for many of us it's suuuper nostalgia too! For a quick watch, here's what most people tend to just call "that wedding song". (kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKexgn-AZsR7h5I) I'm telling you, these would be a fantastic way to spend your time and get more into classical!

The 4 movements were spread over four of the old "78" discs and the entire piece took around 30 to 45 minutes. I can't remember the name of the orchestra but I think it might have been "Halle" . The music gave me an undying love of Classical Music. Thank You, Wolfgang. Little paddy

Very lucky indeed. But remember, it took many musicians to play this masterful piece for the recording. These musicians typically started at a young age, went to music schools to practice, practice, and more practice, go to university to study and practice some more. By the time they get accepted to a local orchestra, they are pretty a master of the instrument they play. So a lot of hard work was put into it - please go to your local symphony and attend their concerts once in a while and appreciate their work in person.

jon boy the rule is generally a Piece, versus a Song, as songs are meant to be sung and pieces are just played. That being said, almost everyone I’ve ever heard that has come out with that argument is a much inferior musician. When things don’t need to be said, don’t say them, especially when you’re miseducating. By the way, I do really agree. For a non professional studio recording, this one has some great moments. I think the conductor has a lot to do with that. Anyway, have a great day!
