SCX6 - RYFT - TRX4 --- A SNOW CRAWLING GIANT!!

A Franken-rig custom built with the best of 'em!!!
Nothing like pounding your head on the wall over and over again trying to make 1/10 scale parts push a 1/6th, heck almost 1/5th scale sized rig around in the snow!!!
I think its time to step up to a 5065 Brushless outrunner!

Thank you!! It needs work yet... the TRX4 ttrnasmission is just not able to take all the power and big tires. I'm going to change out to twin planetary transmissions with twin 4250 Outrunner brushless motors --- one powering each front/ rear separately. Stay tuned...... ! And Thanks for watching!!! 🙏

If you put a castle copperhead system in it you could get way more wheel speed and be able to tune it, it could be pretty great! I absolutely love the build tho, badass!!

Thank you -- yeah just trying to keep the power system cost down -- the isue was grease in the trans and portals -- too much marine grease. I got everything freed up and high gear ran much better -- but its also not geared for wheelspeed, but for rock crawling. And alas, the TRX4 is just not really up to task, i keep breaking 5mm shafts. Gonna have to step up to a Vitavon SCX6 or RYFT transmissin next up then we can THRASH PROPER!!!

SO MAny Thanks You's!!!! Yeah its a beast mode build lol... work in progress!! The wheels are aluminum billet from RC4WD -- a series they sold back in 2005. There were 1inch wider (for 40 series ClodBuster builds) when i bought them ---- i used a angle grinder/cutter wheel to remove the center sections and rejoined the wheels together to make them "super skinny's". It gives the Rock Crushers a good amount of extra "bulge" around the side walls that they wouldn't otherwise have, helps the side lugs stick out.

That thing is awsom man.. ditch the out runner for somthing with some torque and put the slipper eliminator in then shell be a monster.

LOL Thank you! Watch the nex vid or too --- i locked out the slipper, and freed up all the GREASE in the trans and axles --- way too much. A 4250 Outrunner has INSANE torque,, just saying. Once i got the drivetrain spinning freely, i sheared 5mm shafts FAST. So the TRX4 is just not gonna do it. I wil have to upgrade to VITAVON SCX6 or RYFT transmission to take all the power --- a 4250 Outrunner won't even fit in a RYFT transmission -- its WAY more powerful than a 540 can brushless inrunner in the torque category --- it has 14 poles vs usually just 2 or 4 in an Inrunner.

You sure got that right!?! And to that end I'm on the case!! SCX6 all metal transmission just came in the mail today, along with SCX6 driveshafts and we're stepping up the motor as well to a 5065 outrunner that can run on up to 12s lipo!!!! More beans are in the works!! Thanks for watching!

By george I think Nick's on to something here! LOL yes for sure I WANT me some paddle tires indeed. Alas, they don't make really tall 40 series paddle tires. Heck the tires i really want in 40 series are FLING KING skinnys in GREEN super sticky compound. But we can't have it all. Hands down RC4WD Rock Crushers on there now are the TALLEST biggest, heaviest tires on the market (in regular production numbers and reasonably affordable). Even most IMEX giant monster truck RC tires are not taller than these -- 8.5inches with Foams, almost 9inches if you put an inflatable inner tube inside and pump it up a fair amount. I am just waiting for a big fat 8.5 inch tall 40 series Tractor type tire thats what i want for XMAS for 2025 LOL. You almost read my mind! ;) Thanks for watching!

Have SCX6 all metal transmission, SCX6 8mm driveshafts are all going in over next couple weeks and then BIG BAD hand-made STEEL TIRE CHAINS should get the exrtra footprint and bite we need to get moving!!!!! :) Thank you for watching!!!
